This seems needlessly complex and less efficient.

This seems needlessly complex and less efficient. He took both blockers with him and we can't tell by the camera angle if the connection was off for him to hit either. You could same the same for when Jordan did that famous hand-switch reverse layup against the Lakers.

Ngapeth actually does this fairly regularly. Sometimes he hits it, sometimes he sets it and he can set either antenna. There are probably 5-6 examples on youtube from this club season alone. You will also find some creative attacks and serves too. He's the most creative player we've seen in quite a while!

posters ... talking about "the gold" ... display on the sides of the court kept mentioned something about "the gold". if it's not talking about the Olympics or Rio by name, then to me it's just following FIVB convention which awards "Gold" to any event champion indoor, beach, etc., and promoting the general idea of winning whatever. i'd welcome a better media effort like everyone here, but us vb will never resemble the spectator sport it is elsewhere - too much competition for a league - mls makes a few bucks & nwsl, wnba etc are subsidised. i'm happy for the athletes that get paid to play & see the world a bit at the same time.

watched the finish of italy-brazil, thought brazil was gonna pull it out after the 8-7 side change - all the games before were won on the side brazil finished on (i've asked before if anyone noticed the "winning side" phenomenon before, but no takers). glad to see the float serve working for aces against brazil (mostly A team). finished on an italy floater ace, dig & tool of the block 16-14

It was crazy seeing Bruno go under the net and at Anzani at the side change. Zaytsev came out strong, and actually passed well. It was such a huge turnaround from last week. I like that lineup with he and Lanza at the outside with Vettori playing opposite. Lanza was hot and cold, but did make some key plays. I wish they used that venue more often.

Is Zaytsev back at OH now? I didn't think I'd ever see him there again, seeing as he was so dominant on the right side. I guess same goes for Anderson though.

Check out Lucas' slide here: They run that play a lot and it's usually effective. They can do this kind of stuff because Bruno is such a skilled setter.

If by a lot you mean once a match or more likely every other match, then I agree with you. Setting a slide is not difficult although I agree Bruno is only second to Marouf in setting skills.

Murserskiy is back against the usa this weekend, while Kurek is out against Iran.
Fight for top two spots between top three just got interesting.

Murserskiy subbed into game 1 as OH in front during usa point run after 2nd TTO, but that's it. a couple weaker subs in game 3 as russia rolled over & lost 0-3
tried to watch pol-iran acestream but the only link i found froze too much.. settling for this flash stream (wait for [X] after 15 sec to close stupid ads) decent quality. looks like it will go to 5th game

so.. can poland take at least 2 points in the next match to lock in usa for rio? if so then usa can sandbag the last 2 matches to let in poland over iran.. or get a couple points from poland to ensure that iran goes instead (russia has no motivation, and indeed much political motivation not to keep iran from rio) - ahh the moral delima.. haha
