Italy, Serbia, or Russia I presume. Bulgaria, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and Poland have a shot I presume. What about Dr. Livingstone? I had to WIKI that, but...YES he as well! Very talented this year.

OH - Larson, Hill, Hodge, Robinson, Vansant MB - Akinradewo, Harmotto, Dixon OPP - Lowe, Fawcett, Murphy S - Kreklow, Thompson L - Banwarth Glass can take Thompson's spot if she's healthy. Probably this line-up. However, I could see Karch adding Gibby and subtracting Vansant. Five OHs seems like overkill, and while it'd be nice to get Vansant more high quality experience, she probably wouldn't play much since the US will probably ride Larson and Hill as much as possible with Robinson being first reserve. My thinking also. I believe they are going to want to see where Easy 'is really at' - with extended playing time against the lesser teams; and see if there is any change from last year where Murphy edged out Fawcett. And adding Gibbemeyer - with Dietzen probably scheduled to take a finite number of swings.

US has the toughest schedule amongst the top 7 ranked teams at the World Cup.
Asian countries hoping that at least one of them finishes top two. A dream scenario would be China and Japan finishing top two. A possible winner in this scenario would also be the European #2 and #3 teams that get sent to the World Qualifier.
Dominican Republic wouldn't like that very much. Dominicans will be the USA's biggest fan. Santo Domingo will be the site of the North American Qualifier, and they are hoping that the US will not be coming to town. Bethania De La Cruz is still recovering from an injury, not sure if we will see her at the World Cup.
Russia and Serbia will be rooting each other on as well. Russia opens with DR which could be a big match early.
If China and Japan both don't qualify, the World Qualifier will be really interesting

I was a little surprised to not see Rachel Adams on this roster after having a good Pan Am games. Is the writing on the wall for her in regards to Rio at this point?

Here's a schedule highlighting the 21 matches amongst the top 7 ranked at the World Cup. I converted the time-zones. (Japan is 16 hours ahead of California).
Friday August 21st ------------------ Dominican Republic vs. Russia (8pm PDT, 11pm EST) United States vs. South Korea (8pm PDT, 11pm EST) Serbia vs. China (11pm PDT, 2:00am (Saturday) EST)
Sunday August 23rd ------------------ Serbia vs. United States (2:30am PDT, 5:30am EST) Japan vs. Russia (3:10am PDT, 6:10am EST) United States vs. China (8:00pm PDT, 11:00pm EST)
Wednesday August 26th --------------------- Korea vs. China (2:30am PDT, 5:30am EST)
Thursday August 27th -------------------- Korea vs. Serbia (2:30am PDT, 5:30am EST) Dominican Republic vs. Japan (3:10am PDT, 6:10am EST)
Saturday August 29th ------------------------ Dominican Republic vs. Serbia (8:00pm PDT, 11:00pm EST) Russia vs. Korea (11:0pm PDT), 2am (Sunday morning) EST)
Sunday August 30th ----------------------- Russia vs. Serbia (8:00PM PDT, 11:00pm EST)
Monday August 31st ----------------------- Japan vs. South Korea (3:10am PDT, 6:10am EST) Dominican Republic vs. Korea (11:00pm PDT, 2:00am (Tuesday) EST)
Tuesday September 1st -------------------------- Serbia vs. Japan (3:10am PDT, 6:10am EST)
Thursday September 3rd ---------------------------- Dominican Republic vs. China (8:00pm PDT, 11:00pm EST) United States vs. Russia (11:00pm PDT, 2:00am (Friday) EST
Friday September 4th -------------------- China vs. Russia (11:00pm PDT, 2:00am (Saturday) EST Japan vs. United States (11:00pm PDT, 2:00am (Saturday) EST
Saturday September 5th ---------------------- Dominican Republic vs. United States (11:00pm PDT, 2:00am (Saturday) EST
Sunday September 6th -------------------- Japan vs. China (3:10am PDT, 6:10am EST)
The US opens with South Korea, then plays Serbia and China back to back for their first three matches. Their last three are Russia, Japan, and DR. Couldn't ask for much of a tougher start and finish. They will have to come ready and finish strong.
China doesn't have it too easy either, they finish with Dominican Republic, Russia, and Japan just like the US. They open with Serbia and USA but have a few days break before they play South Korea.
Russia's "big matches" are all on back-to-back days, but they have some time in between each. They open with DR, and play Japan the next day. A break until they play Korea then Serbia the next day. They do however, finish against the two favorites of the World Cup, China and USA.

China is extremely happy because Brazil is not coming. Brazil owns them even when playing their D team. China just can not beat Brazil.

So Alisha Glass will not be back in time for the World Cup. Also, Kristin Hildebrand was off the preliminary roster as well.

I was a little surprised to not see Rachel Adams on this roster after having a good Pan Am games. Is the writing on the wall for her in regards to Rio at this point? Adams had surgery a month ago to correct an issue with one of her eyes, which is why she hasn't appeared on any rosters lately.
