A theory: Willoughby saw that she wasn't going to be a starter for the U.S. team anytime soon, so she went where she felt like she could.

Buzz word around Caguas:
Definitely the story of the day around Caguas, Positive acceptance from most while others say" heard it all before." In the past many foreign players in all sports have made request for information ( which is all she did ) about remaining in Puerto Rico but the majority are not followed up on. For myself I'll become a believer when I hear it from her and so far no public comment. I'm looking forward to tonight's match with Carolina for team and fan reaction on this story, should be a great one between these two rivals. Also good luck to Katie and April tonight, they need a big win.

The summer games is about representing your country and not just representing yourself. The games is all about what you can do for your country and the pride in that representaion. Today many people think they are entitled to do things or go places when they have not earned it. If people are allowed to jump around and represent nations at their will the games will no longer be what the Olympics were designed to be. Shame on Kim.

Well - I do recall pro tennis player Gigi Fernandez decided to represent the US at the Olympics. She was born in PR and I believe still resided there. She was up front that her motivations were in the improved business opportunities gained by representing the US over PR. What I do find odd is that there is a separate PR Olympic body. The UK doesn't separate into England/Scotland/Wales/N-Ireland - although they do for international soccer. French nationals in Martinique and Guadaloupe don't have their own Olympic teams. Also - recall that several Brazilian soccer players have been offered large sums of money to become citizens of Qatar, and aid their "adopted" countrys's national team in qualifying for the World Cup.

There are many more examples of individuals or countrys perverting what the Olympics games are all about but does that make the continued practice right? There are thousands of Americans that give their lives in their attempt to represent their country and if they can not make the team they do not run off and find another country. The games are all about representing YOUR country and the pride in that accomplishment. If you want to legally obtain citizenship in another country, because you love that country, by all means go for it and represent that country but trying to find a way in just to get in is wrong in my opinion.

Think about this:
There is a finals match coming up with Caguas in it. Two of the best teams in their league. Perhaps this is an endearing stunt? One that would make the locals proud of her and come to the match to cheer her on (or against her).
Regardless, it could potentially put fans in the stands!
