Hasn't won in the last four. All due respect to the Huskers, but try 1-8 in the last nine! With all due respect, why don't you reread my post. I said " this group hasn't beaten Texas in its 4 matches."

Even though this went to a 5th set, Nebraska really had no business hanging in this match. I thought Nebraska had the weapons and were overdue for a Final 4 run, but its clear they lack the leadership and physicality necessary at this point. You could not be more wrong. Nebraska played great defense and if Nwanebu had not played Texas probably would have lost. Cook should have played Fein from the beginning also.

Post-game writeup: www.texassports.com/news/2015/9/4/WVB_0904155436.aspxHere are my thoughts: - Nebraska started the first set very composed; then, things just fell apart. Will have to go back and re-watch to see the breakdowns - Ebony Nwanebu was the most dominant player on the court. 22 kills, 17 digs, 4 block assists, 0 service errors, 0 services aces (but served tough) and hit .315. She and Amy Neal never left the floor I don't think. Ebony seems to have a very good feel for the game; her relaxed demeanor allows her to find the ball after a block and somehow keep it in play. - Since I didn't watch Nebraska play last weekend, I wasn't sure what to expect; so, I made no prediction on the outcome of the match. Heard Coach Elliott comment on what a great passing team Nebraska was; I saw that tonight; Hunter was receving some very good passes all night long. Read many posters gushing about Justine, Hunter, Foeke, and Annika; wasn't really buying it (on all 4 players) so early in the season. Justine is a stud. Hunter sets a nice ball, but she also gets some great passes (especially from Justine). Foeke will be great, but not sure when that will be. Not surprised at Annika's performance. - While the match went 5 sets, two of the Nebraska losses were -17 and -15. Everyone can interpret that as they choose. I guess all teams go through one game like that in a big match every now and again, but to have two sets like is surprising for a team that plays hard and passes so very well. - Haggerty in the second set was the Haggerty I remembered from her freshman season. - At intermission, Jerritt was pretty upset about his players serving Justine; stated that the game plan was not to serve her, and players failed to execute. Kat Brooks seemed to fail miserably in her serve location. - Fourth set was going so well for Texas up 15-10. As Nebraska inched closer, I was stunned Jerritt never called a timeout; that was the biggest mistake of the match; don't think he called a timeout until Nebraska took the lead, and by then, all the momentum was gone. Credit to Nebraska for playing hard and never giving up. - Texas got down early in the final set, but like Nebraska in the fourth set, refused to give up and just kept grinding. - Chiaka did not have her normal huge numbers, but still put up 9 kills and hit .320. Seemed like Collins connection with her was off today. Texas winning tonight while Chiaka was "just okay" means other players were picking up the kills when needed. Defensively, she and Molly each had 7 block assists. - Paulina played better than she did last weekend, IMO. Came up with some very timely blocks, especially right after she had been blocked or made a hitting error. Her experience is probably why she is playing over Yaz; would really like to see Paulina serve (instead of Chiaka, perhaps?), as she does have a jump serve. - Stats-wise, Texas out-hit, out-served, out-blocked, and out-dug the Huskers. - Overall, both teams will get better (and healthier, hopefully). Each will be a tough out come tourney time. Texas (hopefully) playing in the Regional at home is an advantage no other Top 10 team will have in December.

Neither of us wants to suffer with a terrible screen name until 12/19. Let's make it the loser has to keep the screen name for 30 days from when changed. Worried? Any good recommendations for a new screen name for RUMBLEinRIO for the next 30 days???

Nice try...I can read. But, correct if I'm wrong. This group hasn't been together for the last four years. Different players have been added and others have moved on. The only constant is the same result for eight of nine matches.

Don't you have anything better to do on a Friday night than to troll this thread?

How is saying that IF the other team didn't have their best player, that supports the idea that Nebraska has the leadership and physicality to make a final four run? Personally I think they DO have the elements necessary to make the FF, but that has nothing to do Nwanebu or Texas. I said nothing negative about Texas or Nebraska, how is that trolling? Don't get defensive just becuase you made a silly point and someone called you out on it. We are all guilty of doing it, doesn't make other posters trolling. As for my Friday, I' in Utah visiting family for a wedding, needless to say, volleytalk is much more entertaining.

Great match. Nebraska, you had your highs and lows but were still very impressive. Just the name "Nebraska" conjures a feeling of intimidation and fear. I will only say one thing (or maybe more than one thing), I'm glad you're no longer in the BiG XII and feel sorry for the rest of the BIG 10 teams. I'll be keeping my eye on you, the best of luck. Go Huskers. Texas, you played with alot of heart. Ebony, if this is just a preview of the next two years, I'm ready for the ride. The match between these two volleyball powers was more than I expected. Hook'em Horns.

Apologies if this was covered in the thread somewhere and I missed it, but anyone know why Amber R didn't play?

I think it is good these teams continue to play each other on a regular basis. I don't think it will do either of them anything but good to have a match to circle in the non conference schedule, and it is a treat for the fans to be able to watch the matches. It is good that Nwanebu looks to be more of her healthy self, only with maybe more defense in the back row.

Was so happy with how Nwanebu played her first game as a Longhorn. 4.4 kps hitting .315 with 3.4 dps playing in front of thousands of fans and a great team on the other side of the net.

I am not a Fien fan and even I am feeling sorry for her. I know that Anika is the new Kelsey Robinson but come on John! Talk about a confidence killer.
