Without Lowe USA beat Russia last year in World Champs with Startseva setting. Kosianenko made all the difference. I think Scherban also made a huge difference. During the world championship, Russia didn't have a solid 2nd OH option. Scherban only scored 2 fewer points than Kosheleva today and had 48 receptions. I didn't watch the match, but were only 2 players passing for Russia at one time. I can't imagine why the USA didn't target Kosheleva at service reception.

Im still new to USA volleyball and olympics and stuff For the last Olympics, what tournament did USA qualify in, and the NORCECA, is it tough? USA should easily qualify out of the NORCECA even if they start the second stringers. DR is still missing their star player DLC and PR, well, just doesn't have the enough firepower to take out USA. Agree with trojansc, it will be "tanking show" for the NORCECA qualification as all of these teams will try to avoid USA in the semis.

usa with Tom on serve receive could look very solid running their fast offense more consistently! and hooker too, I will never get over how good this team could have been this cycle! oh Karch

Dietzen: When the British guy is dogging your serve, you know it's bad. Glass: When the set is off the net, she back-sets. Serbian and Russian blockers were camped out and waiting for it. Banwarth: She wasn't horrible, but just okay. Fawcett: I don't know how she'll hang being in for an entire match, but she's been terrific in the double sub.
Kosianenko: Money. Dollars only, no roubles here. Kosheleva; Honey-trap.

Would this team be better with both? Maybe, maybe not. Chemistry is a HUGE factor in winning, and ever think that there may be a reason they are off the team? Putting them on the team, could cause major issues. This team is VERY good. They just struggle at times. Im still confident in them. We lost to a very good Serbian team and Russian team, but beat a VERY good Chinese team.

Banwarth did NOT play well tonight. IMO our player who played the least well. You have got to be kidding me. Of all the players who did not play well tonight, that's what sticks out in your head? Amazing!

I personally was most disappointed in Dietzen. She has not played well at the world cup and at times has looked like a mess, I expect way more out of our captain The way she ended that last timeout in the third set was very hysterical. Her teammates appeared confused and shocked by her screaming. Not a good look. Also, I can't seem to remember the last time Harmotto played well at a major international event. Dixon has earned the opportunity to start opposite Akinradewo IMO.
