The angle that these pics were taken don't give me ANY idea of how high she is ...
Are there any better shots?

Oh she's HIGH! Trust me...
When you see her in person, you'll see...
Some of the students that first see her in the Pyramid always respond with "OOOOOH!"
We all joke about using stopwatch to time her hang time! LOL!
GO BEACH!!!

Have you seen Nana Meriwhether of UCLA jump?
Can anyone that has objectively seen both of them compare for me? I agree with jus4me28, the angle of these shots doesn't tell much, but I understand she is a great leaper.

All the LBSU photos I've seen out of printroom are shot at a mindboggling angle. Obviously someone needs to go back to photography 101, and brush up on action photography.

He said, she said.... the fact of the matter is that she's got the major hops. And for a freshman, her stats are quite impressive. She's only going to get better...

Don't we just love these camera angle discussions? He said, she said.... Don't know what you're talking about here. Trying to sound smart but it's not working. Look at the camera angles, it's as plain as the sun is bright. He said, she said? There are several he's who have mentioned the bad camera angles. So far no dissenting opinions. Since BYU has sucked this year, I'm just roaming keeping you staight Ms. Idaho.

She's only going to get better... Excuse me, but the point of the thread was, "Take a look at high she gets" well, the pics don't show how high she gets. Take a chill pill and comment constructively or don't bother.

I have seen both Crimes and Meriwether. Crimes is taller so she is going to touch higher than Meriwether even if they have the same vertical. That said, I think Crimes is off the floor quicker and has a higher vertical. Both are works in progress.

I believe Cal's Angie Pressey can touch a basketball rim, and she's only 5'8".

I would love to see Crimes play, especially if she get's up higher and faster than Merriweather. Having seen Nana play, obviously her vertical was the most noticable thing and she hit the ball very high, but she wasn't a big threat. For all her physical skills that volleyball savvy and on-court body control have yet to follow. Obviously if she put everything together, she would be a scary package.
With the talk and play of Crimes this early in her career, I think it's great that she's attracting the attention she is and hopefully she can continue to become an all-around threat.

I would like UCLA and LBSU meet in the NCAA so I could see how the battle of the leapers (Crimes and Merriweather) will come out. I'm thinking UCLA will win again. Hopefully , it is not in the 1st round!

Can anyone out their confirm what Merriweather touches? That might help to clarify things a little. I saw her play last week against Washington and I don't think she can jump like Alexis, but then again Alexis is a legitimate 6' 3", with fairly long arms so she can be very intimidating at the net, plus she is extremely quick and combined with her hops she's a lot of fun to watch play this game!

There are several he's who have mentioned the bad camera angles. So far no dissenting opinions. Since BYU has stinked this year, I'm just roaming keeping you staight Ms. Idaho. Dude, What's your problem? If you had any idea of what you're talking about, you wouldn't have made such a dumbass post. There was nothing in my post that was negative towards Alexis Crimes. If you care enough to be well informed regarding this subject, you should read the following two previous threads related to this subject. [ftp]http://volleytalk.proboards35.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=1091659310&start=0[/ftp] (For what I think is a good camera angle, see my post on page 2, then read some of the comments that followed) [ftp]http://volleytalk.proboards35.com/index.cgi?board=general&thread=1095996358&action=display&start=0[/ftp] (Yet more discussion, pic 12 is my favorite here) With regards to the Ms. Idaho comment, you shouldn't make comments online unless you can back them up in person. Further, gender based comments always make the accuser look like an idiot.
