It is possible they will be tied with Neb for 2nd in the B1G if PSU wins in Lincoln. Finally, WI will probably have a better RPI if they win out. The exact seeding doesn't matter as much as which teams you are paired against in the regionals. |

I think USC and Washington have earned it and should have higher seeds than Minnesota or Wisconsin (based on their win/loss records). The top four are so critical. PSU should be a top seed in one of the regionals. They are going to be terror when all is said and done. Baring major upsets this week - not a chance PSU gets a top 4 seed. |

I don't see Minnesota as #2. Or Florida as #5 That the #4 team in any league, and especially the SEC, could be the highest team from its league and a top five team is the clearest indictment of the hated RPI I can think of. |

To be fair, both Pablo and Massey have Florida as the top team in the SEC. |

I don't think PSU is a top 4 seed with this last loss to Michigan, along with the 3 other losses in conference. Last year a clearly better team only got a 5 seed. A lot may depend on what happens in Lincoln. That said, if Rose gets his troops together, they could go on a run. Whatever regional PSU ends up in regardless of seed............................PSU is the defending champ..................nobody seeded higher will want to face them. I'd rather see PSU in my bracket than at least four or five teams in the country. I don't doubt they could go on a run, but right now, they are not the team to be feared in the field. |

And Minnesota still has to play Ohio State. Wisconsin has to play at Purdue.
Opens up the possibility of Washington as the #3 seed:
1. USC
2. Texas
3. Washington
4. ?

I dont see UW higher than 4. they don't have the significant wins to back it up. UW will top out at 4 top 25 wins, Minny is at 7 and counting. |

For the longest time we never got to see Hawaii play in Seattle. Now, we're on this every-other-year cycle of Hawaii vs. UW in Round 2 of the tournament.

My prediction is that Hawaii gets sent to Stanford.
As for Florida, what do you do with them if you are the committee? Fourth place finish in the SEC most likely, despite the impressive RPI. Can't justify them as a Top 4 seed; so, I can only guess they will be somewhere between 8-10.

In 2011, un-seeded Florida was sent to UNI (1229 mi.) when FSU and Tenn were hosting first week-end.
Was that because they had to be put the Gainesville regional? Is that always a predominant locating factor?
How do they determine which regional gets the 1-8-9-16 pods vs. the 2-7-10-15 pods, etc?
can they move the pods around, like NCAA BB?

Give me a couple of teams not ranked in the top 4 who give you pause. PSU is not going to roll over. |
