If there is a Setter of the Year and Libero of the Year, why is there no Outside Hitter of the Year, Middle Blocker of the Year, Opposite of the Year, Defensive Specialist of the Year and Serving Specialist of the Year?

If there is a Setter of the Year and Libero of the Year, why is there no Outside Hitter of the Year, Middle Blocker of the Year, Opposite of the Year, Defensive Specialist of the Year and Serving Specialist of the Year? Largely (about 3/4), OH OY is called POY (recent exceptions Ainradewo (Stan MB 07, 08), Tomasevic (UW opp 05), Burkholder (Az setter 00), Silvernail (WSU MB 96)). To make up for this, adding MB and Opp OYs might be a good idea. Perhaps drop the position OY of the POY each year.

So who do we think gets LOY? Strickland has really turned it on down the stretch, Whittingham is very good, Benson is good (her team underpeformed though), and Formico is also solid.

But that's before injury for asu. I watched them cream colorado state. They would have won the pac12

Whittingham or Formico, though I'm thinking that Strickland will win it for the 2nd straight year, even though she wasn't truly one of the top 2 for either year

regardless of Cal's record, Maddie Kerr is LOY, imho.

With Inky, Stanford would be a completely different team. Imagine Inky, Lutz and Hodson? Oh yeah, we will have all those 3 together next year. With Fitzmorris and Plummer. Yay!

Sure, Stanford may have been better with Inky. But didn't Dunning know before the start of the season that Inky would not be playing all season? Wasn't he able to plan for that?
Isn't it just as challenging (or more so) for a team like ASU to lose Gardner or UW to lose DeHoog mid-season when lineups and rotations are already set?
Stanford doesn't have a copyright on injuries to key players.

Gardner at ASU is a huge loss. Dehoog is not. A loss, but no where near Stanford or ASU
