She’ll be like Crenshaw. She doesn’t have the quick twitch to be a top Libero. She’ll mean more to SC as an OH. I'm not giving you my opinion. I'm telling you what happened. Scully will not be like Crenshaw though (the serving target for every team SC plays). Yes the Scully/Crenshaw comparison works for they are both OH's who now play lib and both not scrappy quick twitch defenders....BUT Crenshaw was the worst passer on their team whereas Scully will be the best passer on SC's team.

You're saying the libero comparison works... except for passing? That is the most important part of the position. Yes, both played OH and will now play L but Scully was the better A6 defender and passer. Scully also wants to play L, while Crenshaw did it because her team needed her to. Ultimately, comparisons are odious but with the importance this SC staff places on passing, if Scully plays like Crenshaw, she will not play libero for Keller.

Most of the schools recruiting Scully were recruiting her as a libero. She is in the CNT as a libero. She might end up at OH for SC, but the plan is for her to play libero. She’ll be like Crenshaw. She doesn’t have the quick twitch to be a top Libero. She’ll mean more to SC as an OH. She’s in the same situation as Crenshaw, yes, but she’s a lot better than Crenshaw lol. Crenshaw was the weakest link out of Washington’s starters

you don’t need Kinley AND Scully. Scully is playing libero Lets be real Keller will have Scully on the left when Hammons can’t hit over .200 in pac play. This assumes Hammond starts.

Just reported as expected. USC Women’s Volleyball Adds Transfers Shannon Scully and Mia Tuaniga Scully is a really nice pickup for USC. She was one of the two or three best players in the WCC last year.

Haha. I don’t stop by this thread often, but the Crenshaw bashing is absurd. But that’s fine, you can see her Final Four or PAC-12 championship banners next time you come to Seattle.

I am curious who wins out the second OH spot alongside Botkin. Does Scully go full-time libero and hone in the skills or remain an outside? Does Hammons revert back to her freshman year role of the defensive sub for OH or does she find her prep footing and play to how she was thought of coming out of HS? No way should passing be an issue this year for this USC team. No way
