I've let the monumental news that 18 Mizuno has dropped from this tournament sink in for a day. I am thoroughly shocked that Sports Performance decided to set this example for its athletes. Surely the players of 18 Mizuno are disappointed, as well as their parents. In all honesty, general fans of volleyball should be disappointed to have lost the privilege to watch a truly special group of young men play. Not only are they immensely talented, they play the game the right way. Before dropping from this tournament, I fully expected this team to medal at BJNC. Now, it is evident that they are not as invincible as previously thought, maybe falling behind High Performance, Mil Sting, Ultimate Gold, and even SPRI Runbird in the midwest club volleyball hierarchy. It's pathetic really. Nothing against the players, but the administration should be ashamed. What ever happened to the love of the game? Winning is amazing, but at what cost? Choosing to drop from a tournament because it might save their position when it comes to seeding nationals is the lowest low I've ever seen. I feel for the backup setter. What a kick in the face that is. Truly disgusted with what was once the most respected club in the Midwest. "Most respected club in the Midwest"?? USA Volleyball might disagree. They don't hand out lifetimes bans on coaches lightly. SPRI produce great players on the girls and boys sides. I'm glad I'm not from that area and don't have to make the choice of whether or not to play for them.

Mizuno won't fall behind Sting, Ultimate Gold or Runbird simply because Mizuno has won against them all without their full team. They are a team of hardworking individuals that don't give up easily. Count on them coming back stronger than ever at nationals.

Great! They will have the opportunity for their play and performance to do the talking for them. Can't wait to see it!

It gets brought up and argued ~every 6 months.

Couldnt agree more with this post, once you drop out of a tournament you immediately suck at volleyball and move down in the "Midwest hierarchy". What terrible children that obviously hate volleyball now

The girls schedules have been posted. Any word on when the boys will come out? Is it safe to assume Tuesday or Wednesday of next week?

So on another thread named 'Palos'. A tournament is being run this weekend by a guy who supposedly seeds the National Tournament this summer. Based on all the results this year, 18 Runbird is seeded over 18 Mizuno in this tournament. Explain to me how will 18 Mizuno will get seeded in the top ten at Nationals this summer? They have not played a single team outside of the Midwest. Nothing against the players they did nothing wrong, but the coach of 18 Mizuno is clueless.
