Is this the guy who dressed up as Elisha Thomas a 2 years ago? No, that was Jan Carlo Zagarra (not sure on the spelling of the last name) from the men's team. That wasa hell of a costume. The big clip-on afro puffs were a nice touch, but the white tank top that said "State Skool" was the icing on the cake.

It was a good to see #8 Brett Quirarte come off the bench and score. It was the 1st time (at least at a home match) that she has played. When a freshman comes in for the 1st time there is always much pressure, she handled it well. Kathy bring her in to the game was a real surprise.

I was wondering if it was also the death knell for Amy? Kathy was bringing in Amy when she thought the team needed a boost.

Kelly Wing did have a terrible night. She looked like she was in a great deal of pain, with her leg wrapped and a really bad limp whenever she took a couple steps or more. If a horse was limping the way she was, the owner might consider putting it down. Yet somehow, she was still able to get some kills, often times flying from the back row to do it. She really is a pretty amazing athlete. Hope her leg heals. That explains a lot re: Kelly Wing, thanks! Sounds like UCSB got a little lucky re: Kelly not being anywhere near 100%

She was awfully frail looking in high school....I never really thought that she could handle the physicality of top level D-1 ball

Brett is definitely slim; she is in shape – not anorexic. The younger crowd (young males sitting in the row below us) approved of her. I was also wondering if she could play at Division 1 level. from what I saw no problem, she is quick, enthusiastic, and wants to play. I think Brett will have more play time now, Kathy must have been pleased by her play. To bad about the Beachless tonight -- looking forward to getting swept by UCSB must be painful. ;D

One thing that we all know is that you gotta play the match first, right? Like I have said, I like our chances in the rematch at the Mid better than I do in the T-Dome tonight......

Sorry, I don't have any. I've never been good about carrying a camera. I did a brief google image search and didn't find any on the web either. You might ask on the men's board and see if anyone is friends with the UCSB men's players from the 2002 season and might have taken some pictures from the 2002 women's home game against Long Beach. Might be a bit of a long shot though.
