I'm glad I come on this site. I know one school now my daughter will not be considering as long as a certain coach is there. Are their more coaches like this that I as a parent should know about? Please post schools the daughter is interested in and volleytalk will attempt to navigate you in these treacherous shark infested waters. We're early in the process so who knows where she will land in the future.

I need to agree, Volleytalk is not the place to hold forum on the private details of ANY kids recruitment. I know it is exciting and flattering, but it can also be harmful to your kid, if intimate details are shared.

This coach will be gone before next season. Wake Forest is a fine school with a good athletic tradition, a new coach should be easy to find
Not so sure Bigfan. According to the follow up article released today, WFU has some pretty big rugs and some expert sweepers.

You telling me that what has happened at San Jose St and its team that imploded a couple of years ago is private?

What I said was it is not a good idea to vet your kids prospects on volleytalk.

I'm glad Ken is finally receiving the attention he deserves. My daughter was one of the abused players featured in the article from UNT. It's pretty bad when an opposing coach pulls you aside after a match and tells you to get your daughter off his team. The Wake Forest story told only a small amount of his many infractions. After 2 years of living through hell, and I do mean hell, my daughter got to play her last year for a wonderful coach, Andrew Palileo. I thank God that she out lasted "The Monster," and got her love of the game back. I hope WF does something before it's too late. If you have direct first hand knowledge of this coaches behaviour, then can I suggest you offer your experience in writing to the AD at Wake Forest, and also send a copy to the Schools President and the Conference President.
Unless people come forward with the truth, guys like this just get away with it. It sounds like your daughter has finished her NCAA career, so it should not be able to come back on her.
Or perhaps your daughter would get some sense of fairness by offering her experience.
Bad coaches at all levels, are essentially predators. they use athlete's for their own purpose.
We were interviewed and quoted for the recent article, as well as by HBO. A very long narrative was also included in the previous WF investigation. WF has chosen to so far ignore all of the allegations. My daughter and I have not been afraid to come forward with all the info. We will do anything we can to help players not go through what she did as a player, and us as a family.

It will be interesting to know what Wake Forest has to say for itself if this is all proven publicly.
Hopefully your daughter still loves the game. I hate when a coach takes away a kids love of the game. Their is a saying in coaching "you do not want to be an athlete's last coach"
