22-14 Guerra bic cut mid-right off Smith. s/K.Shoji/Christenson/ 22-15 MEX serve wide? s/#6 Perales/#10 P.Rangel/ 23-15 Guerra bic tip short left 23-16 Lee 1 soft-blocked, MEX 1 kill 23-17 Troy D deep center dug, MEX right dug, Priddy wide left grazes antenna 23-18 Tu1 23-18 Priddy inside left deep mid-right not dug 24-18 Priddy js wide left? (or long) 24-19 Sander 2m left cross bounce 25-19. USA +23+14+19 Mexico. Mexico is out, and the loser of Brasil-France is definitely below us, so we clinch. Italy 4-5 wins (12-15 pts) USA 3 wins (9 pts) Brasil-France winner 3 wins (8-9 pts) Canada 2-3 wins (6-9 pts) Brasil-France loser 2 wins (6-7 pts) Mexico 0 (0) So it's a race between Canada and the Brasil-France loser. If Canada wins, they're in; else they test all of the remaining tiebreakers.

So now that we know the US are through what does it mean for the elimination round?
Italy vs. L (Russia vs. Iran) USA vs. W (Russia vs. Iran) W (Brasil vs. France) vs. W (Russia vs. Iran) OR W (Poland vs. Cuba) ((Only if Russia or Poland win, if both win Poland clinches 2nd seed)) L (Brasil vs. France) OR W (Canada vs. Italy) ((Only if Canada beats Italy)) vs. Argentina
Now that I am writing it all out I am realizing there are a lot of possible scenarios but looks likely that the USA will play Russia in the elimination round.

The winner of each pool plays the 4 seed from the other pool, but then the remaining teams draw lots for their opponents, so there is a 50-50 chance as to whether you play the 2 or 3 seed from the other pool, so you can't determine anything outside of the 1-4 matchups.

I haven't been able to watch any of the match. Did Troy just come in in the first set as a sub to get Anderson some rest going into the quarterfinals or did Anderson get hurt? Or was Anderson just not playing well? It looks like Troy is the only sub who entered the match. He wasn't playing well, so Murphy Troy was subbed in, and he had an excellent match.

Matt Anderson has been playing up and down lately. Poor showing in world league and a couple matches here. He was awesome during the 2015 world cup unstoppable on serve and attack.
