Only confirmed not back for the next go are Dietzen and Thompson. I know a lot of people were questioning bringing her but I think she feeds positive energy. A bench player who knows that the chances of her playing are slim to none but is the boost and positivity the team needs on the sideline. Let her be an example to any small setter who doesn't think she can't make the Olympic team. Dietzen is replaceable but has had a solid run for our team. Now to wonder if Foluke walks away from the game stay another four Foluke we need you. Also Larson, she is married and I am sure a family is on her mind. But don't you understand that the Olympic roster is only 12? Not 14 or 16+. There just simply is no space for a cheerleader. I wouldn't mind if the availability is bigger, but for whatever reason the Olympics made the # smaller than normal. Larson or Dietzen is capable of feeding this positive energy when needed.

Who would you have taken it makes sense to me, she is also a setter so two back up setters seems fine? I don't think we had anyone who would have drastically changed the look of any game.

Kind of funny really that NBC commentators are chastising internet posters on live TV, I think if anything, that just validates what we do. Thanks for playing the game, gentlemen. I can't wait to hear Barnett in the next installment of The Net Live. Please notify the forum when it happens! Looking forward to it!

Congrats on the bronze. If Foluke doesn't return for Tokyo, I'll miss her the most. I guess she didn't get the finish she/the team wanted, but she's performed fantastically over the years. Is it time for her to let a new generation (Alhassan, Dixon, Inky if she's back to form) take over? I hope Hodson and Sun develop because we need solid OHs. Anybody want to ask Zhu Ting to come to America? (lol just kidding)

Wow, lots of "Negative Nancys" on this board!! I am just as dissapointed we are not playing later today for the gold, but we just did win the bronze. Give these girls some credit and props for playing their asses off! And for all the Banwarth haters out there who do you think could be doing better at that position?

Karch always likes to talk about how the team is deep and that anyone can come in and all is well; yet he is often the least likely coach to sub out a started. Someone else mentioned that Karch has favorites. Guess who played setter for the entire tournament: Glass. Even when she wasn't always playing great. Guess who else started opposite and almost always on the court at opposite: Murphy. Murphy played sub par all tournament. I can't remember even one GOOD match from her. Just heaping more on the Karch sucks attitude. LOL Lol I think you're forgetting about the first time we played the Netherlands and won in five. Granted maybe we would be in the finals had we lost that match, but Murphy is a bring reason we brought home that W. Please don't think so small, but I will agree she could have performed much better. To continue, these girls lost by two points to a firey Serbian team. We can get caught up and all the little this and that, but it was two points in the Olympics, the biggest stage they can play on, and then they came back and took it to Netherlands for Bronze. That says a lot about mental toughness, and yes these girls do read these forums every now and then so for once make them feel proud of the work they have put in to represent their country. They just WON bronze for the US, after putting in a lifetime of work and sacrifice. Just for a moment, let's be happy we aren't Brazil or Netherlands going home empty handed.

If the choices exclude those who can't be mentioned, I would have taken Hagglund. Our defense is so weak. Too bad Davis retired. Also, 3 setters was just unneccessary. USA also need really good OHs and OPPs. So I don't know...maybe Easy (if she wasn't injured) or Fawcett. There's a lot of new talent that we don't get to see on an international level too. But I prefer experience, which we now know team USA needed. And we need tall women!, like "Haneef-Park tall"!

Another VT question was addressed. Someone asked if Karch had ever been a head coach before. Yes. His sons Jr. High team.
CT should be hired as an asst coach for 2020. I really think she'd be great.

Well at least the girls brought some medal home... Even if it was just sand in their suitcases.
The road to Tokyo is about to be begin and I could only imagine there will be new faces to the gym. It is going to be so weird... lol
Also I would like to say to Lukey. If you stayed another quad; I wouldn't be mad about. Ha
Congrats to all...

It'll be all about Molly Kreklow and Micha Hancock at setter. Tori Dixon, Inky Ajanaku, Hannah Tapp and Taylor Sandbothe at middle blocker. Kelsey Robinson, Krista Vansant, Hayley Hodson and Mikaela Foecke/Alexis Sun at outside hitter. Lastly, Karsta Lowe and Ebony Nwanebu/Yaasmeen Bedhart-ghani at opposite.

Robinson should move to beach volleyball. She could be very successful there with the right partner.

We need bigger girls, like Serbia. Maybe all those 6'6 girls from Stanford gotta hit the weight room though They're all playing for the women's basketball team, which is going for a record 6th gold medal today. :-)
