Tough loss for the Bruins...almost 3 k/set. Sponcil's got her work cut out for her.

Simpson at Kansas does raise a logjam. I assume that moves Payne to the middle? There seems like there is more to this story... Kansas is possibly a NC contender this year if they are able to properly replace the Libero position. It doesn't sound like that will be Simpson. That leaves these scenarios:
1) Payne wants/needs to move to the middle because of National Team or professional interests. Payne's value as an OPP is just way too valuable at the college level to ever consider making this move otherwise. Also, Kansas is already brining in 2 Middles this year as transfers.
2) There is an unknown injury somewhere (or transfer out/retirement).
3) Simpson is sitting out this year and will play her final year next year when Kansas will have a real need. But then they are brining in a pretty high recruit to set next year. Why then would Simpson want to come to Kansas to play next year - and people are already saying she isn't sitting?
Simpson had other good offers too. Elite Eight good.

Taylor Hammill not on Auburn roster She's transferring to Middle Tennessee. It's on page 1 of this thread. There's a link to a press release about it

Geez, two big Pac-12 transfers in the last couple of days. I still think Gabby leaving hurts Colorado. I disagree. Simpson is not a very good setter and a mediocre hitter. They'll be fine without her. They've got a nice freshman setter coming in who will be fine. I think the consensus is she's a talented player, but she's been injured a lot. She's really a setter/hitter, which can be an asset when playing a 6-2, in that you save a sub every three rotations.

She was injured for a lot of last season but it hasn't been chronic. She was primarily a setter coming in and as a hitter was far from her ceiling. She improved technically and has become a good hitter, with potential to be even more lethal. She is just OK as a setter, and IMO her setting skills have actually regressed in Boulder. Though, as a 6-3 lefty, only setting back row minimizes what would differentiate her at the position.

So I am guessing that Payne is moving to the middle and Kansas becomes a taller and more physical team this year.

Does anybody know what happened with the following Nebraska-Omaha players. Kayla Torson - Jr in 2017 Olivia Spanton - Soph in 2017
They don't show up on 2017 roster or ont this transfer list (or Rich Kern for D1)
Also, you can add L/DS Ashley Smith - Soph in 2017 of Nebraska-Omaha transfers to Iowa (per RichKern)

Transfers way down this year in numbers (per this thread). Anyone know the cause? Power 5 four year guarantee in play for players that are now rising juniors. Could some of these kids that normally would transfer for a continued schollie, now staying put even though they won't play. Just riding out the guaranteed schollie? For every action there is a reaction...so what effect might this have on the coaches recruiting going forward? How does this effect c o a c h e s trying to use the usually lucrative transfer market? Any other reasons for drop in transfers or am I just reading tea leaves that aren't there?
