Just a few years ago Cal was close to a national title, now they're being outpaced by the two newest PAC schools and falling behind WSU and OSU.
Is this fixable?

Unless it is a sign that the Cal admin doesn't care about (has de-emphasized) volleyball. Or it may simply be that Cal is a victim of early recruiting - top academic recruits are willing to wait on Stanford's decision, but not on Cal's?

Or it may simply be that Cal is a victim of early recruiting - top academic recruits are willing to wait on Stanford's decision, but not on Cal's? Cal doesn't have to wait for admissions decisions and have far more leeway with recruits. And the program has been in a back slide since Chris Bigelow retired. She seemed to be the person that made things tick there.

Washington beat WSU.
UW tied the record for most losses by a PAC-12 champion. Had they lost today, a new record would have been set.

Washington played almost exclusively with juniors and freshmen this year, so what you saw this year will likely also be what you see next year, except another year more experienced.
Stanford loses some seniors (notably Inky), but probably gets Hodson back and also returns the core of their mostly-freshman team.
It will be interesting to see what happens. Those two teams will be the consensus favorites to win next year.

UCLA is where UW was last season, losing both middles, their libero, and a starting setter, plus a starting outside.

Getting Hodson back will be big, but so is losing Inky.

The recruiting has been fine, the head coach is the problem. Cal's setting and OHs are just not good enough to be a top team in the Pac/Nationally. Kerr looks like she regressed although she was good. And they lose a ton of players after this season. Cal will be in the bottom of the Pac again next season.

With U of A and Utah faltering, Schwan will certainly be the Pac POY.
Tanner for SOY, Formico for LOY, and Plummer for FOY
