Where I'm at right now(at work in L.A., CA) they're finally showing the Germany vs USA match ...I just found out who won by reading the scores here, but I have noticed that Team USA is playing much sharper, less mistakes and better defense. Well there was a glitch in game three when Team USA let the ball drop...that's when Metcalf and Berg were substituted in the game. Right now I'm watching game four and Cross-Battle is in...gosh, take her out. She did an over pass and spike the ball into the net. I am impressed with the Germans especially Grun and Thumm.
Good job Team USA...good luck on your next match.

This is really annoying. NBC had this match scheduled to air on the NBC station during the 8-12 timeslot. Now I missed it. Any tips out there on how to get more up to date listings for the tv airings of these matches?

I'm with ya. It's a good thing that someone at work turned on the TV - I would've missed this match and was planning to watch it prime time(PDT). All of us are depending on the schedule that we read in the daily newspapers(that's not so dependable) but instead going to the Internet to get an update but we don't want to do that because the Net gives us the latest results of who won or loss. Greece is ten hours ahead of us here on the west coast. My advice - go to www.nbcolympics.com, go to What's On TV and check a time zone and I think they give an update on what will be broadcasted(most of it is tape-broadcast). This is really annoying. On nbcolympics.com, they have an updated schedule. it is easier to just tape the broadcast and then delete it if nothing is on that you like.

Keep in mind that the updated schedule on NBC.com must be updated daily, as yesterday, the Germany versus USA game was still listed as being aired from 8-12. Boo hiss to NBC for making last minute changes. I've learned my lesson and will now check the schedule each morning.

I think Heather Bown needs to be more involved in the offense. She is certainly doing her part in other areas. Her serve looked much better than how SonOfBarcelonaBob described it. 3 - 4 aces .. not bad .. and at crucial times in the match. came up with 3 - 4 digs off german bombs perfectly passing them to AhMow .. nice blocking ... all in all a good match for USA and a good match for Bown.

I've been avoiding VT all day. If USAV hadn't e:mailed me the result (drat!), I wouldn't have known who won. I was looking forward to watching the match tonight, regardless--whatever or how much NBC decided to show of it.
The bastards!
I swear if I have to sit through another evening of Al Trautwig waxing poetic about musclebound dwarves frolicking about in tights I may just take a shotgun to the TV.

I would definitely recommend keeping a close eye on the TV Listings section of www.nbcolympics.com. It is pretty easy to use.... and you can search through the listing and look ONLY for volleyball. Forget looking at your local TV listings. NBC changed their schedule for the Germany/USA match yesterday morning.... only a few hours before they were going to broadcast it. Thank God I recently got TIVO... and could easily change my recording schedule from work.

So, if I manage to stay up until 1130pm to watch the men, I won't be disappointed?
I already know the result...
