McPeak/Youngs win first beach medal of any kind for the US since Beach Volleyball was added to the Olympics in 1996. With Wals/May winning gold, the US is making up for lost opportunities in the past 2 Olympics!!

I have to say that I was really surprised at the reaction of both May and Walsh to their win (in a positive way.) They are the compleately dominant team of the past several years and I figured they might react like it was sort of expected. Instead they were so excited. It was really a pleasure to watch both their medal ceremony and the interview.

wooohoooo! Congrats to Misty and Kerri!!! I think... for me... this win at the beach by Misty/Kerri alleviates some of the pain from the loss at the indoor volleyball from Brazil.
gold at last! ;D

] Was that Cary Wendell in the stands for the bronze and gold medal match? I just finished watching the gold medal match and when Kerri and Misty went to the stands to cheer with and high-five the crowd the camera followed them and in the camera view I think is Cary.

It was really a pleasure to watch both their medal ceremony and the interview. It was endearing to see just how excited both of these women were, especially Walsh - she just couldn't stand still during the anthem - - oh sure, someone will say something bad about this, being disrespectful and all, but you can't fault honest emotion and this was about as honest as it can be! Just dominating! They're going to be interviewed in the late night show sometime tonight and I'm sure they will be on the Today show broadcast from Athens tomorrow morning. Again, congratulations ladies! Well done!

For some reason there hasn't been any update for the last 15 min? I heard about their win around the 2 PM(PDT, not PST) hour on the radio and yelled out loud for joy along with my coworkers. Just watched their finals and I was very impressed at how they play - they were fierce. Watching the four Americans on the victory stand was great to see. I'm proud of all of them - especially McPeak. Very touching to see her win a medal, so what if it's bronze, she's proud to have won one.
