The Ellie vs. David (forgot his name) fight was the hardest boss fight in the game for me. I thought it had something to do with taking him out 3 times, but wasn't sure. Well, did have to stab him 3 times but wasn’t that difficult. 🤣

One thing that gets annoying about Desperados and Shadow Tactics is the number of missions where your group starts out split, for no particular reason except to make sure they can't work together. The final mission they start out split (again).
Another thing that is frustrating (but part of the intended gameplay) is the way that at the start of the mission it feels so impossible to even get going. Typically they present you with a large group of enemies in place to cover each other, and you have very limited freedom in terms of how to approach them. Typically there is a way to "pick the lock", so to speak, but it's frustrating trying to spot it.
Once you get some progress into the mission you can usually have more freedom about who you bypass, maybe working around to take out from a different angle, that sort of thing.

Horizon Zero Dawn is out on Steam for PC and it is getting extremely mixed reviews. Some of them are saying "this game is great!". Others (more than half) are saying "this game is buggy and crashes and is completely unplayable". Releasing a game for PC is more challenging than releasing a game for a console because there is so much variability in the hardware the game will be running on. www.techspot.com/news/86304-dev-working-fix-horizon-zero-dawn-many-pc.htmlThe devs say they are working on the problem.

Well, not if it won't run. Some people are saying they have no problems. Others (with what sound like pretty high-end machines) are reporting lots of crashes, frame-drops, etc. Another issue seems to be that some of the animations were designed for 30 fps on console, and most PC games expect to be able to run games at 60 fps. The original game devs hired a third-party studio to do the port to PC. Sounds like maybe they made a bad choice. The thing is, a typical PS4 game runs at 1920x1080 and 30fps. My games are 1920x1200 and 60 fps (and my hardware is so old I'm seriously planning on replacing it ASAP). It's not at all automatic that a game that "looked great" on PS4 and was built for a standardized set of hardware might not be able to handle more than twice the pixels/second on hardware that isn't at tightly controlled as a console.

Anyone ever wonder how they would survive in a post apocalyptic world, like HZD and the Last of Us?
I figure I'd be one of the first to be killed by the zombies, machines, etc, but I'm drawn to the idea of trekking around the country to see abandoned cities where nature is taking back what was her's in the first place.

I just wonder how Aloy stays so clean and fresh after all of her encounters.

beat another mini-boss. my strategy was wait for him to attack, block, and then throw a shuriken in his face. it was surprisingly effective

Still playing overwatch. I've successfully climbed to a level where people aren't constantly messing things up now. Game's a lot more tolerable but now my individual errors have a much bigger impact on the game.

I finished the main campaign for Desperados III. Overall, pretty good. Worth the money (to me).
I bought the "season pass" which is supposed to include a future mini-campaign of 3-4 more levels.
There are also "challenges" that function like Hitman "contracts" -- tasks to accomplish that use the existing maps. For instance, one of them involves somehow getting some dead bodies all the way across the entire map. Apparently enemies aren't hostile, but it's certainly a sneaking challenge. People do tend to notice if you are carrying a dead body.
Maybe now I'll finally go back to playing Life Is Strange. It's not that I didn't like it; I did. It's just that it was actually really emotionally intense, and I wasn't in the mood for that.
