And with that the Big West season comes to an end. Thanks Hawaii, Cal Poly and UC Irvine for representing the Big West really well in the post-season. Let's see who makes the AA teams.

More formerly at Long Beach St. news.
Oregon signs former LBS assistant coach Matt Ulmer to a $650k deal until 2021 to remain their head coach.
Matt Ulmer just signed the highest ranked recruiting class in Oregon's program history.
Meanwhile Joy McKienzie Fuerbringer lead Long Beach St. to their worst record in program history.

Congrats to Matt, he will be starting his own dynasty. As for Joy, she already has proven herself just by having such a long and bountiful career. LBSU is fortunate to have her.

I'm a bit confused with the comparison. Are you suggesting that LBSU made a mistake by not doing a better job of retaining Ulmer? I would argue that had they switched places, Ulmer would be the one with the worst record in LBSU history and McKienzie would be signing that big contract with Oregon. Life is full of luck and serendipity -- and randomness.

Finding it rather interesting the comparison of male v. female head women volleyball coaches.
Of the top eight seeded teams in the NCAA's 7 of the 8 coaches are male.
Before this past season the BWC had 5 male and 4 female head coaches. Today the BWC has 3 male and 6 female head coaches.
Pro's/Con's?
