Notable team that no one on here has mentioned yet... the kid and the grandpa... the team that is supposed to take over the beach volleyball world (insert eyeroll)... Del Sol and Mesko Nicely played sir, world dominators, why rest of field hasn't bowed out is a real mystery. Sarcasm is strong with this one! 😂😂😂😂

I'm ok with it too, especially for Crabb. Top 5 seed for AVP. Time spent training with you AVP partner should be more important.

Whats that like a 90 minute flight? + a 90 minute drive? Ohmigod! Thats a mild nuisance. The possibility of injury is also not legitimate since these players will be practicing during the week and working out, both of which should be harder than the kind of matches they would be playing in Seaside. These guys haven't played in two weeks, and both have played a light schedule this year. There are plenty of legit reasons they have dropped out, but rest isn't one of them

Yes, because all 90 minute fights don't require any additional time traveling to and standing in lines at airports; 90 minutes time total from one's life.

If they are dropping out because Manhatten Beach is next week, somebody should have informed them the tournament scheduling, or they probably should have been paying attention. If it's a rest issue, they aren't in any kind of professional volleyball shape. Guys used to play 30+ tournaments a year back in the glory days and it sure didn't affect their conditioning.

I've played Seaside four or five times. It's not exactly a high-stress environment, nor is it what I would consider a physically draining event - unless you're counting hangovers.

Everyone is over thinking this.. It's just another tournament, I don't think rest is that big of an issue. There used to be 20+ tournaments a year and there weren't any more injuries than there were today.
