A year ago today, Kerri Walsh Jennings and April Ross took home the bronze medal after defeating Larissa and Talita.
I'll always remember being so disappointed, thinking it was over for them. Then they fought back and won in Set 3. And then I'll always remember the moment they scored the last point and Kerri jumping for joy. Hugged April. Broke apart and hugged together again.

What a difference a year makes! Now they can't stand each other! Funny how life works! Was a great moment though....

Don't really understand how they couldn't play internationally together and April teams up with someone else for the domestic tour. But isn't it the same for teaming up with Nicole??

I dont think they were exactly besties then. Interesting question for me is had they won in Ft. Lauderdale, and I thought they looked incredible for much of that event, would they have stayed together

3 Gold Medals and a bronze. I will cherish the memories because I seriously doubt I will see this level of success again in my lifetime.
Thank you Kerri Walsh. Very well done.

Way too many things would have to happen. Even being the GOAT, Kerri was incredibly lucky that: She was born in the US, rather than any country that was not the US or Brazil A complimentary top 5 all time player of roughly the same age and the same nationality hit her prime the same time Kerri did. Kerri wins at least one gold and probably two without Misty, but 3? A second top 5 player in the world (again a defender so complimentary) was available just as Misty left the scene. None of Kerri's major injuries coincided with Olympic years.

Lauderdale in February where they placed 5th after losing to Agatha and Duda. Then AVP started and that was the end of their partnership... I quote April with "the final nail in the coffin was signing with AVP" Anyone noticed USA women didn't win any 1st place finishes this year? ๐ญ

Don't really understand how they couldn't play internationally together and April teams up with someone else for the domestic tour. But isn't it the same for teaming up with Nicole?? It isn't ideal to practice with two different partners. The ideal is one partner "fulltime", then the team can grow and improve together.
