trojansc, this years' bracket is messing up your track record. There might have been a disconnect between my RPI and official NCAA RPI. There was a chance that LSU got a significant RPI bump depending on how bonuses finished. But there is no excuse for High Point. None

I'll have to see the final RPI numbers, there is a chance there was a slight disconnect for the final RPI, but I doubt it. The committee just went straight by RPI by picking NC State over North Texas.

Sounds like RPI was more important than ever before. Initial reaction, I like the bracket a lot. A very good job of spreading out the sub regionals - coming very close to matching 2's, 3's, and 4's. And most important - they have spread out the teams in the PAC and B1G. The 3 B1G's are in different regions and Wisconsin, Michigan, and Purdue are in the 4th. The PAC doesn't have any seed in the Kentucky regional, but has Colorado, Oregon, and Washington State in the region. Kentucky and Florida can meet in the finals.

So is Illinois the team traveling the farthest for the 1st round. Champaign to Washington is a long flight. Hawaii to Washington too.. both teams might be a little jet lagged so it evens out?

The committee just went straight by RPI by picking NC State over North Texas. That's part of the problem here. Decision makers (committee) should STOP just looking at numbers and actually watch a match or two and use some common sense. Also, CofC is always in the NCAA tourney and got waxed, swept in its conf tourney this year; one shiny win not enough with lame SOS - it deserved to watch it this year as well. Want to grow the game? Fresh faces in the tourney, when merited like MD and Iowa this year, would help.

I am guessing they were completely unimpressed with any of those bubble teams outside the RPI cut-line that a sub 40 RPI was too good to leave out.
