Vakif shows once again that during the crucial 20-25 portion of a match that their blocking and Zhu make them a formidable opponent and difficult to beat in a close match.

There was another volleyball forum called "inside.volleycountry.com" but it doesn't work now. It had lots of good current up to date information on volleyball in other countries and leagues. Does anyone still have access or know what happened? That website is down right now, but this has happened in the past and it comes back up after a few days. Thank you. It was a great site that helped me keep up to date with international leagues and players.

Wolosz's ability to be soooo good and then soooo bad from one point to the next is incredible.

Krob continues not to start in today's Gala vs Vakif match. At some point one has to conclude that Guidetti feels that Gozde is playing at a higher level then Krob. Not a good sign for Krob's upcoming USNT participation. Maybe it's just me, but from the first couple games of Vakifbank's season I noticed that the players and fans didn't like Kelsey R probably because her playing style is not up to par as Kim Hill. The height difference is noticable and offense skills between the two are completely different. Hill was a great contributor for Vakif last season especially during times when Lonneke wasn't playing good and she also provided great serves. Kelsey doesn't provide that much for the Vakif, that's why players like Melis and Tugba have to play both of which don't have that much potential to make an impact. In order for them to win, Lonneke needs to remain consistent if not Zhu, Gozde, and Rasic will need to step up.

Not a good sign for Krob's upcoming USNT participation. Hill also barely ever started her first year at Vakif. Even last year, Gozde started questionably over Hill many times. Guidetti likes Gozde and she's also the team captain. It's more complicated than that. Do we all wish Kelsey was starting more? Absolutely. Is she in one of the best club gyms in the world training with arguably the top OH, one of the top MBs and one of the top OPPs? Absolutely.

Hill also barely ever started her first year at Vakif. Hill came to Vakif the first year with broken confidence on her passing from the USNT. It took at least 2/3 of the season for Guidetti to put her back together. But when he did she was key to Vakif's success playing very well in the CL finals and then outplaying Larson and KYK in the Turkish playoffs and garnering the MVP at the end. So I guess you could say that she had a very successful season when it counted in her first year. Krob has a completely different personality then Hill. Hill is easy going and a cheerleader type. Krob is instinctively much more like Larson which makes her fit into a new team more difficult if her game doesn't follow her voice. I don't see her ending this season on the same high note that Hill did in her first season although it would be nice if she could.

No need to worry about Kelsey - Vakif and Gio are extremely happy with everything she has done for the team. She does it all, OH, passing OPP or DS. Training with Gio and playing with some of the top players in the world is valuable. Vakif is deep with talent and Gio does a great job balancing his players. He has the luxury of relying on Kelsey when she is not a starter to sub in and make a difference which she has consistently done. Kelsey is the player and teammate that any coach would love to have. Karch wants his players to train and play at a high level and she is doing just that.

Where are you and alohavball getting all this info Krob doesn't fit in at Vakif? Don't get me wrong, Krob is a great player, but coming off the bench is not what she needs if she wants to become a better player and maintain her position on the USNT. She was great in Imoco, but once she went to Vakif her playing time was reduced thus impacting her experience. Vakifbank relies on Zhu and since Gozde is the captain she gets more playing time. Lonneke on the otherhand has a great relationship with Guidette because of working together in Netherland in the past which makes it difficult in the end for Krob to play.

Again, you are wrong. Kelsey has started and played in more matches than Gözde from start to (near) finish of the Sultanlar Ligi. Additionally, Kelsey has had significantly more playing time in her first season with Vakifbank than Kim Hill did in her first year at the prestigious club. Lonneke on the otherhand has a great relationship with Guidette because of working together in Netherland in the past which makes it difficult in the end for Krob to play. Lonneke and Kelsey play different positions, so you obviously know nothing about this team or the players. Guidetti also had a great relationship with Bahar Toksoy in 2013 when she played for Vakifbank, but that didn’t earn her a starting spot in the middle.
