Especially the ones who know in their heart they aint getting past the first round. Ive always found it odd when they celebrate when they know already lol Yeah, the central Arkansas gals acted like they won a million dollars.... I mean, ok, you already know you were in, and going to face the seeded team in whichever drive in sub regional the committee wanted to send you to. Uh, duh. Agreed, its a little like, um ok, congrats on something youve known for a week already lol. Hawaii wont have a reaction this year but their seniors have all faced UW already, so they know what its like. Im curious how high point reacted. And on the opposite side you have kentucky who got a top 4 seed over TEXAS AND NEBRASKA, and theyre like lol k |

I would ask if you would have rather them faked a second celebration, but the rest of your post says you would have been annoyed by that too. |

But seeing your name on ESPN and hearing a sportscaster talk about your team on national television is quite another. Plus, for some of these players, going to play a ranked school in a crowded arena is a pretty big deal. And finding out who and where is a big part of the excitement. |

No, it doesn't have them all. It doesn't have the two I looked for--High Point and LSU. I wanted to see those two most, since they were probably the most excited to make the tourney. |

Ehh That is true, Didn't really think about it that way, especially for alot of them, they aren't in the tournament every year like the top pac and big programs. For some of them, just making it is amazing. |

UK purportedly has four players, each of whom are “one of the best few in the country” at their position... including a freshman setter. I hope they are left as blue as their uniforms by a team that really is that good... if they get far enough in the tournament to play one. I doubt they will. So it's Edmond, Dusek and Lilley's fault that they had a great season and the selection committee seeded them to high? That was bulletin board material for any team playing UK. That kind of boasting... which obviously did NOT come from the players... really bugs me because I have been to enough Final Fours to realize that some programs’ fans are systematically deceived by the team PR person and the local media to the point that they “drink the Kool-Aid”. It is fine to believe in your own team, but having a realistic perspective about their chances is important too... and many programs’ fans never get one. Don Shaw picked Penn State to win the championship this year, and I am prepared to see that awful denouement once again... but that is not incompatible with my really wanting Stanford to win. |
