Curious to see where Eaken ends up as this will be her second transfer. She was a really outstanding club player, it looks like she hasn't been able to find the same success collegiately after getting beat out by Rivera this past season. this will be her second transfer, and she’s already redshirted so is she going to do? Is there anything she can do?

I hope Stivrins called her old AZ Storm buddy, Khalia Lanier, and got her to come to Lincoln. Obviously, joking, but would still love for that to happen Lanier on the move huh? I will still hold firm to my stance- entirely a joke earlier and I had no knowledge of Haley leaving. That said, if Khalia isn't happy at USC, I hope Lauren is texting her

Just got this. Per the Assistant Coaches Committee: Hello Coaches, I am here to educate on this bylaw per request from the recruiting task force and my compliance office here at Lipscomb. In the last couple days or so I have received some emails and phone calls regarding some recruiting legislation. I went to my compliance office and talked it over to make sure I didn't send something that was misinterpreted or wrong. According to one of the schools that contacted me, the transfer thread is up on VolleyTalk and this past year they received a violation and petitioned it (and lost) to the NCAA but ultimately they found any VolleyTalk or public message board posting regarding transfers for open scholarships was illegal. The NCAA cited rule 13.4.3.1 to the school as being the reason. This was a surprise to school, but I don’t think anyone knows it’s actually illegal so I thought easy way to spread the word and educate the rest of the Assistant Coaches Committee. I am not sure how the information is posted or who it was posted by but the school still received a violation. If you have any questions, I am open to the discussion or I advise you to talk to your schools compliance office. Please feel free to pass this along to the rest of the schools in your conference. I have attached a copy of Bylaw 13.4.3.1 for reference. See you all soon. Thanks Billy -- Billy Ebel Associate Head Coach Women's Volleyball Lipscomb University One University Park Dr. Nashville, TN 37204 billy.ebel@lipscomb.edu W: 615.966.5872 What's VolleyTalk?

This has become a standard and very common strategy in recruiting transfers.

Is there anything she can do? My understanding is that Eaken can play for a D2 school next year if she chooses, but would need a special waiver from the NCAA to do so for a D1 school. Jessica Yanz was in a similar situation several years ago and received such a waiver, but there genuinely have to be special circumstances, such as a serious illness in the family that causes the player to need to be closer to home.

... doesn't mean it's right. Agreed. It also means that Knop's recruitment to Florida while on the international trip "wasn't right", among many others. Would I like recruitment and transfers to be done differently, of course. Is that going to happen, most likely not.

They might lose a scholarship or be off of a 2/2 deal, but no player is required to leave a program

Not sure what it was though.

There was a thread about Knop, maybe it was the Michigan thread. She was forced out of the wolverine team for some reason. I don't think her recruitment counts as one of those nefarious circumstances, but I could be wrong.

Apparently Marjike Van Dyke (freshman ILLINOIS) has confirmed on her Instagram that she will transfer out.
