Lauryn Gillis to transfer from Wisconsin to South Carolina to play beach per her Instagram Is that next year? Didn't she play 4 years? Really? You usually know a lot. Lol. 5 years to play 4. She can squeeze in 1 year of beach as did Amy Neal, Haleigh Nelson, Lydia Dimke, Carly Kan, and like 1000 other players.

Neither. I think Carlton had announced her intention (at least to the staff) to transfer before Atherton was courted. And most seem to believe Carlton will be a RS/EmergencySetter at UF. But yes, UF will have one hell of a block! would have been interesting to see Carlton set Alhassan in the middle. Lauryn Gillis to transfer from Wisconsin to South Carolina to play beach per her Instagram Is that next year? Didn't she play 4 years? That's not a transfer. She's graduating after 4 years of eligibilty and then going to graduate school and playing a new sport. So you are both wrong.

I believe you can play 4 years indoor, then 4 more beach. NCAA allows five years to play four years in any sport without some type of waiver (medical etc) that is granted. So if you play four years of indoor with zero to two years of beach, you could transfer in the spring and play one season of beach that initial spring at the new school, then train and play the entire next year as a beach athlete. If you use the spring to finish your degree at a school that doesn't have beach, you only have one year of eligibility left in beach (5th year). One thing to think about if you are attending a non-beach school but have an interest in playing beach for that last year, don't enroll early or you lose that option of a fifth year beach.
