Brooke Smith is no longer on Kansas State roster. 18 players on the roster right now and just one setter. Any guess on how they proceed w/o Smith? Dixon running a 5-1 with no backup - or is there someone else on the roster that could set in a 6-2? This team is too good to be with just one setter. And so much height on the roster that would be better utilized with a 6-2.

Thanks! Sorry about that! Nebraska has only 1 setter also; that's why the confusion with Brooke supposedly headed to Nebraska!

I don’t see Olivia Schwamberger on the Tennessee roster for 2018. I haven’t heard anything about a transfer for her - does anyone know if she’s retired or headed elsewhere? Shrink, I put my master Prof Plum skills on this one and figured it out for us: 8 kills + Biology Major x Neurosurgeon Career Path = No Mo VB I heard otherwise....either she sticks around and gobbles up that 12th scholarship for the Volunteers or she heads up to the Northeast seeking a much more academic-based University.

Ashlyn Fleming, 6’4” Junior MB, and the last key returner for Pacific, is now removed from the 2018 roster. It’s only 3 weeks away from the new season starting. No idea where she is headed at this late date.

There has to be a back story here.

As someone who is close to some of the players on the Pacific squad and a long time supporter of Pacific, I know first hand, what is going on with the Pacific program. I don't know what the rumor mill is generating but you mentioned that my previous post, I downplayed internal issues. That is not true. If the internal issues you are implying are the dismissal of an assistant coach who did not live up to his obligations when he was hired, then you would be correct. That is what happened. As for the girls leaving, the sophomore class left. The were good players but the girls who stayed shows the true tiger spirit and should be commended for their commitment. The girls that left were looking for greener pastures. That is not because of drama or internal issues within the program. By the way, three of the girls transferred from a mid major to a school in one of the Power 5 conferences. From the information I heard first hand, Baptista did get into Duke (previous poster mentioned she didn't qualify). She was on the WCC all-academic team last season which made her a good student. The story, I heard was less the week prior to her arrival at Duke, she decommited from her verbal with Duke to verbal with USC. This would indicate that Emily was still looking for a better gig even after her verbal commitment to Duke. I also heard that Fleming is going to Santa Clara.

You said “Tiger-Spirit”, Lmao. Fleming should go to Hawaii. Santa Clara degree vs Hawaii degree...no contest apples to oranges. One is a small Private Religious School the other is a large public school with roots in agriculture studies, however, it's a world known research university. Hawai'i has a medical school, Oceanography school, Vulcanology degree, the East-West Center for Asian Pacific studies and the only school of Hawaiian Studies in the world. So I guess it depends on your choice of study. Here are the latest world rankings. www.timeshighereducation.com/world-university-rankings/santa-clara-university US Ranking of 168. No world ranking. www.timeshighereducation.com/world-university-rankings/university-hawaii-manoa US ranking of 319, world ranking of between 201-250 Volleyball success, well it's debatable, however, a long time ago, Hawai'i did win several national championships.
