Where is @allamerican11 ? He’s been MIA for a few days. He disappeared after a comment that, ahem, new badger 'fan' made in the pre-match thread a couple days ago. I think I made 10+ posts after that, actually.

I know this is the wrong thread but it's still what I do at the end of the sesson: watch old videos. I found the 2016 video, and wow, still sad about it after rewatching (and happy too in a lot of those moments). There are a lot of clips featuring Gillis and Bates so it is relevant to 2017 too. Two more gone from that video. :-(. Just another reminder of how good Carlini was as a player and a leader. Not trying to dismiss Syd, but a statement on the best.

Too bad Rettke was not a Freshman last year! Man, I would have loved to seen Rettke with just one year of Carlini setting.

Carlini was one of a kind. The intensity is what always impresses me.

The intensity is what always impresses me. I have met, and generally know, one Olympic bronze medalist (and no, it wasn't curling or speed skating). To reach that achievement you have to have that intensity. There's amateur sports intensity, but current and future Olympians take it one step further. It's not just the talent, it's that edge. But, it's time to move on, but here's hoping we find some Olympic-level intensity for 2018!

Despite falling to Stanford, I do think Wisconsin played a very good match - Plummer, Hentz, and Gray bailed Stanford out of many long rallies. To be completely honest, if Haggerty makes a strong comeback, I can definitely see Wisocnsin as B1G champs in 2018. Next season is a long way out but Wisconsin looks to be a stellar team if passing is strong and Haggerty bounces back. High hopes for the badgers!

The biggest question in my mind, beyond Rettke right or middle, is what about Tionna? How serious are these problems she's facing? Will she need surgery again? Will she have another spring off? Having the spring off, didn't slow her down too much this year.
If the badgers can get Haggerty and Tionna back healthy, I think they will be very good indeed adding Loberg, Hart and Whalen to the fold. The only problem would be whether the passing and D would hold up with Bates gone. That's still a big if, although Sheff's last tweet certainly seemed positive regarding Haggerty.

Having the spring off, didn't slow her down too much this year. She didn’t have surgery last year. She had a stress fracture that was taking a long time to heal up. I hope she doesn’t miss the whole spring. She and Syd could use some time together.

At this point my default is to assume one of the badgers have had surgery.

Y’all have earned a vacation! There's no vacation! Next we will talk about the banquet, and how recruits are doing in club and then poof it will be spring scrimmage.

Y’all have earned a vacation! There's no vacation! Next we will talk about the banquet, and how recruits are doing in club and then poof it will be spring scrimmage. Wiswell has it pretty much down. Generally the Badgers off-season threads go like this: 1) All America announcements. 2) Banquet. 3) Spring schedule - when will it be announced? 4) How are recruits doing in club? 5) Who's going to USA tryouts? 6) Spring schedule - has anyone heard anything yet? 7) How are alums doing in their pro leagues? 8) Spring schedule - finally. Where are these matches? Will they be streamed? 9) How are recruits doing in club? badgerbill: "Where are the bingos?" 10) Spring practices & scrimmage! Finally! Proceed with overanalysis of scrimmages. 11) When's the fall schedule coming out? 12) Congrats to our graduates! 13) Fall schedule? Any time now, please. 14) Schedule announced! Finally! Proceed with overanalysis of schedule and RPI implications. Discuss possible preconference travel. 15) Season tickets on sale! Discussion of renewals, new tickets, people trying to upgrade to reserved seats. When will the upper deck be opened? 16) Club championships - status of our recruits' teams. badgerbill: "Bingos would be nice." 17) Camp! 17a) Which alums will be working camp? 17b) Fun pictures from camp. 17c) Bingos from camp! (Hopefully) 18) Is it August yet? 19) Countdown to season begins. 20) Reporting day! Sharing of social media posts and articles about the team and practices. 21) RABID speculation about lineups begins. 22) Uh-oh, someone's in a boot. 23) Updated speculation about lineups due to latest injury reports. 24) Hourly countdown to Cardinal & White scrimmage. 25) GREAT PUMPKIN DAY! (aka season ticket holder delivery - when the team visits the sincerest season ticket holders to deliver their tickets in person) 26) Season ticket holder event, and discussion of statements made therein. 27) SCRIMMAGE TIME! Overanalysis of scrimmage info, debates about various projected lineups based on scrimmage observations. 28) First serve. We've survived another off-season. In sum.... is it August yet?
