Katie Callahan The junior libero tallied 36 digs in two three-set matches over the weekend. GAINESVILLE, Fla. β After anchoring the Gators' backcourt defense this past weekend, Allie Gregory was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week. This is the first time Gregory has earned the title during her career at Florida. In two matches over the weekend, Gregory posted two 18-dig performances. That bumped her average for the week to 6.00 digs per set. She also recorded seven assists and one ace against LSU and Georgia. Currently, the Louisville, Ky. native sits sixth in the league in digs per set with 4.00. In SEC play, Gregory has recorded 4.25 digs per set, good for fifth in the conference. Gregory and the rest of the Gators close out the regular season with matches on Wednesday and Friday. Wednesday's matchup is at Tennessee, with first serve slated for 5 p.m., while Friday's evening match is against South Carolina at 7 p.m. in Exactech Arena. Gregory Tabbed to SEC Community Service Teamby Katie Callahan Junior Libero earns honor for her work with St. Francis. GAINESVILLE, Fla. β Junior libero Allie Gregory was named to the 2018 SEC Volleyball Community Service Team, as the league announced Wednesday. The Louisville, Ky. native put in numerous hours working with children at St. Francis, serving as a Gator Mentor. She assisted them with school work and other tasks throughout the day. She also put her time into the Gator Jr. Golf Mentor Day. Gregory was named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll in 2017. Gregory and the Gators travel to Orlando, Fla. to face Florida State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday night. First serve in The Venue is slated for 4:30 p.m.
