How many of the top '19s are playing? I haven't reviewed, so I really don't know. Just thinking about the trend of early enrollees. Eggleston and Kubik are already in college, but the number might not be that high. Hmm, good question. Off the top of my head: Stivrins at Louisville Clark at Penn State Bell at Kentucky Podraza at Ohio State Knuckles at Nebraska Rubright at Minnesota Meuth and McGhee at Notre Dame? Among senior aces you can add to these 8: Van Driel - Kansas Hickman - Kansas Dixon - Kansas State That is at least 11 of the top 100 (11%) - plus I was not able to find these 16 players on a club team this year. I am sure some of these are somewhere, but I am missing? That would put the number between 11% and 27% of the top 100 players forego their last year of club volleyball. Baylor - McGhee, Kara Cal Poly - Hiatt, Amy Colorado - Alcantara, Elissa Louisville - Mbonu, Nena Loyola Marymount - Walters, Emmelyn Miami-FL - Vach, Savannah Nebraska - Kubik, Madi North Carolina - Howard, Skyy Oregon - Murphy, Georgia Oregon - Ferreira, Elise Penn State - Ferguson, Sydney Penn State - Bailey, Gabi Pittsburgh - Akeo, Lexis Stanford - Vicini, McKenna TCU - Manyang, Afedo USC - Horin, Madison If we are to look at the top 50 - then we would be in the 12%-30% range.

Penn State is getting a GOOOOOOOD one in Ndaiye.
I'm also curious to see if Flickinger stays on the OH in college. LSU certainly needs some ball handlers to feed their big hitters, and Flickinger can provide that, but is she big enough to score in the SEC/2nd round NCAA tournament? I dunno.

Per the ‘gram, former Florida commit, Francesca McBride, who recently reopened her recruitment, is now committed to Mississippi State.

Amy Hiatt played 18s this year with Rage VBC. She had played at NCVC and when that club had to drop their girls program last year most of the players and coaches went over to a new Sacramento “chapter” of the existing Rage club.

She reminds me of Simo. Exceptionally good all around in club and high school, very good beach player and will probably have more success in beach in college and play defense indoors. Simo was also never given the chance to hit. With the right surrounding cast, an undersized OH can be very successful. Might not be able to get you to the Final Four (which is probably UCLA's goal when designing their systems), but it can get you to the second weekend.

Interesting that you say that, because the year before last in the second round of NCAAs they suddenly decided to run her through the front row against Cal Poly and she had 8 kills on 13 swings with 1 error, getting them to the second weekend. The second weekend against Florida it didn't go as well, with 1 kill and 3 errors on 6 swings. I'm not aware that they ever tried her again in the front. Wow. I saw in her bio that she only had 25 attack attempts attempts her freshman year and 19 as a sophomore. I assumed those were just some back row attacks. Wouldn't have guessed it was both intentional and during the NCAA tournament.

I don't know Simo that well, but our club team has played against Paige Flick in many national tournaments over the years. Another player who's only advantage over her is height or jumping ability, won't be able to keep her off the front row. Paige has a nice repertoire of shots, high volleyball IQ and leadership in her tool belt. She's a bulldog! It will be exciting to see how it plays out.

Early guesses at a top 10 for 2020?
I'm going to go with, in no particular order
Ndiaye L. Smith Londot (STAR IN THE MAKING!!!!) Reinhardt Shaffmaster (though I'd disagree with this one) Cullen Cabello Landfair (who will probably get #1 overall) Skinner (who I think should be #1 overall) hmmmm... best all around OH I've seen in this class is Hamilton but I'll do a homer pick and say Endsley
I'd also comment that there are a number of very good OH's in the class! I could easily see all the setters being tossed out and putting in more OH's.

Devyn Robinson – Wisconsin Madi Endsley – Washington Iman Ndiaye – Penn State Emily Londot – Ohio State Leilah Smith - Stanford Taylor Landfair – Minnesota If Shaffmaster is rated as a setter, I cannot justify a top 10 spot. I know she will probably get one anyway. Make her an RS and her argument is stronger. Skinner, Demps, M. Williams, Cabello, and Cullen, are all in the mix for sure. I agree with you that Skinner should be really high on the list, just wondering if she'll be rated that way. Three OHs that have top 10 ability but will be knocked for being 5'11". Anna DeBeer – Louisville Allison Jacobs – UCLA Jess Mruzik – Michigan
