Updates are posted. Knudsen/Sykora were the ones to drop Pavan/MHP and punch 1st main draw ticket of the day.

Melissa Humana-Paredes / Sarah Pavan (Q1) lose to Cassie House / Molly Turner (Q17) ... watch some of it via FB live stream.. Pavan looked pretty lethargic... she was blocked at least 3-4 times in the last set. Cassie House has one of the biggest blocks I've ever seen on the women's side, just in terms of just taking areas away with her hands. Her shoulders and hands are huge.

The Canadians went 21-1, 21-1 against House/Turner. And Cannon/Quiggle also went 21-1, 21-1 against Strange/Fonoimoana? Is this a typo?

How does she not make it out of 2 qualifiers? I have no answer for that. Jet lag or not they should make it out!! Crazy

Let’s not forget they took a 6am flight here. From where? Toronto? This is just an embarrassment. Sarah has now failed to qualify in 3 AVP events in the last year. If I am MHP, I am starting to wonder what I could do with Brandi Wilkerson. On her day, I think Sarah can be the best player in the world, but too often she chokes or no-shows. MHP too, although being very small its more understandable.

On the bright side...They won’t have to sign the contract through 2020...

I do think this was a mistake not to lock in MHP with a wild card. Even though they embarrassed themselves in the qualifier, I still think they should have gotten a WC.

Because of how they played in 2017? Or something else? I don't see you stating anything other than they should have gotten a WC because you think they should have gotten a WC. What's your rationale?

First upset will probably be Em Day and Betsi Flint going down in 2 to Davis/Scarborough.
