Picking an OH that is pretty likely to end up in a 6-2 is an interesting move. They couldn't even get Lee to 4 kps last season. Penn St. is going to play longer rallies, and get their lefts more swings this year. I disagree. A Penn State OH hasn't averaged over 4 kills per set since Hodge, and they've certainly had better lefts in that time frame than Leath. |

Hodge was surrounded by much better weapons than Leath will be surrounded by. I think there's an opportunity for Leath to be a top 5 or 10 OH next year, but leading a Penn State offense for the first time after a year of injury is a tall order. Super gutsy move and I wasn't ready to do it, but I respect agean for it. |

Hodge was surrounded by much better weapons than Leath will be surrounded by. I'm not understanding the argument. If Hodge was surrounded by better teammates and she is still the only PSU OH in the last decade to average over 4 kps, hitting nearly 5 in her senior year, it seems as if she was an exception to the rule, and the rule appears to be that balance between top attackers is a priority at Penn State. I don't see Leath performing at a Hodge-like level or any level high enough to warrant that kind of volume. She topped out at 3.20 kps in the ACC when she was an AA as a sophomore. |

You're right, my logic is a little hazy here. Depending how high we think Leath's ceiling is, I think she may be asked to play the role of a player who reaches 4 KPS. Penn State isn't (from a preseason perspective) seemingly as balanced as in year's past. Either other players will emerge to help carry the load, or Leath will emerge as the workhorse go-to hitter, or Penn State will have a down year. |

This is the first round I am hoping it doesn't move as quickly because I have real work to do, but still need to do some more research on new players because everyone is taking all the players I had already felt good about!
