I left Cal Poly off my list. Someone tell me why I'm wrong (I can be convinced). The Van Windens are very good, but they lost Nelson, Greisen, and Niemen. I don't see where they make up that production based on recent recruiting classes. I always hesitate to put too much stock in a team that has graduated its setter, unless I know for sure there is quality stepping in. Especially one as good as Nelson.

I don't think I'd enjoy going to 30. I had trouble getting to 25 here, as you get further down the list there are just so many options and so much unknown. Maybe once pre-conference is over there'd be a little more clarity and we could extend.

It is true. 1-15 is much easier than 16-30.

For the 2018 season a couple of us thought it would be fun to put together a Volleytalk Top 25 weekly ranking and see how it compares to AVCA poll and any other polls that come out. An unofficial committee was formed to decide the best way to represent the Volleytalk community for the weekly top 25 rankings. We got recommendations from many of you to put together a committee of 30 voters (+ 2 back up voters) with representation from 9 conferences. We also made sure there was representation from the east, mid-west, south, southwest, and west. Each week starting 8/26 the 30 voters will submit their top 25 rankings and they will be tabulated into the Volleytalk Top 25. Below are 32 volleytalkers that were selected as 30 voters and 2 back up voters because of their love for the game, spending to much time following college volleyball, and also having a decent knowledge of D1 volleyball nationally. ay2013 , Barefoot In Kailua , bayarea , @brandonl10 , bluepenquin , bruinsgold , BuckysHeat c4ndlelight , Cruz'n , donut , eastcoastopp , hammer , Hawk Attack , huskergeek huskerjen , jasonr , jcvball22 , lionsfan , Millennium , n00b , Northern lights , permagrin rainbowbadger , @ruffda , @allamerican11 , sunsuphornsup , trojansc , vballfreak808 vbprisoner , vbshrink , vup , WahineFan44 Volleytalk Preseason Top 25 rankings

When Illinois makes the final four, you all owe me $5.

For the record, I picked Minnesota #4. Also for the record, I voted a top 30. Proving I can't follow directions and should not be allowed to vote. Hey, you know Minny and the B1G, so as long as you didn't stagger out a bar before you voted, you are good in my book.

I’m surprised this corps of voters didn’t get Washington State into the top 25. That’s a miss IMO. They return almost their entire team and get Woodford back on the LS

The voters that didn't vote Stanford #1 need to be removed. I pegged them at #1, but we'll find out soon enough with their run of tough opponents including BYU, PSU, Minny, and Texas x 2, with three of these at home and two on the road.

Disappointed that so many picked Creighton so high and Marquette so low. Otherwise this i svery good. I had Marquette above Creighton in my submission.

When the NCAA poll begins, please consider providing a weekly view of the Volleytalk poll adjacent to the NCAA poll. Thank Will the weekly Volleytalk poll be released prior to the deadline for the NCAA poll voters? The biggest difference between my ballot and the actual poll is San Diego. I had them unranked I had them unranked as well.
