It's good to see BYU get a setter commit. Right now the only setter projected to be on the roster for the 2021 season is Brody Earnest. BYU picked up Earnest off of the Utah Valley University club team. He may develop into a good option at setter over the next couple of seasons, but I think some good development needs to happen for him to be a realistic option. Meyer may have an opportunity to play right away.

Of course that’s an old-ish video but habits don’t go away easily

I based my view on what I saw in the SFU match early in the season, and thought he had talent but wasn't ready to step in as a starter on a top 10 team yet. Well, so much for that assessment.

Austin Buchanan committed to Hawaii For real? I know Koavball not high on this kid but he has to have something special to be in the National Team pipeline. I know we got a verbal from Walmer but I don't know if Walmer will follow thru with Buchanan supposedly committed.

Walmer has a high vb iq and can contribute in other ways besides setting. Buchanan might be a 6’8- 6’9 setter by the time he arrives at UH. I think they will push each other and are aware that the last two Hawaii starting setters became All Americans.

BIGDOGGY mentioned Hawaii is after a libero, same class and club as Luke Turner who is arguably a top 5 player.
