In that video, I think Kaleo Baxter should stop being so shy. Angelica had to practically pull him into the discussion. Dude, this isn't first day of kindergarten. He is so cute! You are better than this.

You are better than this. He is cute. I remember looking at one photo when Kaleo was first hired as an assistant. It was during a match or practice and he's standing in the background and he frikkin' looked like Clark Kent! I wish I could find that photo again.

I watched the video. Clark Kent never crossed my mind. It was a weird interaction. I don't think she was looking to him for support or affirmation.

Also, that interviewer dude was only addressing Angelica, understandable because she's Angelica Ljungqvist, a celebrity. But he should've been more sensitive.

This 6-2 discussion is funny. As someone mentioned, it just means 6 hitters and 2 setters. I can see how someone might view it as 8 players - 6 players being hitters and only hitters and 2 players being just setters ... but that's not the designation. Traditionally, setters were also the hitters - and this was found internationally (Cuba) and other college teams - Stanford and Minnesota teams are ones I recall. I guess we can label what some might consider a 6-2 as an NCAA 6-2 due to its liberal substitutions. Almost everyone nowadays in the NCAA that wants to utilize 2 right side hitters and 2 setters for maybe offensive advantage and to keep players happy. Anyway, here are examples of both ... and then there are variations of it like how Hawaii ran last year. I feel like USC was probably the first NCAA team to feature it (well successfully anyway). There is no "true" -- the only reason we are seeing variations is due to liberal NCAA substitutions. Otherwise, we can say the USA volleyball team plays a partial 6-2. Only semantics. But in terms of Hawaii - yes it seems like they will be having both Iosia and Choy setting with only Iosia hitting and probably another hitter coming in for Choy. Should be fun! 2008 Cuba (Ramirez and Sanchez set/hit) NCAA examples: Stanford 1994 (Wendell and Sharpley set/hit) Minnesota 2004 (Taatjes and Bowman set/hit) NCAA 6-2 with USC 2002 (Lindquist and Anderson setting /Candelas and Killian subbing in to hit)

What are some lineups for this upcoming season that might be a little different, but you want to see Robyn try out?
I think it would be fun to see:
5-2 S front row: Iosia S back row: Choy MB: Williams MB: Westerberg OH: Rasmussen OH: Hellvig OPP: Krug (could be a different look) L: Hanawahine

I want to see this:
S - Choy OH1 - Rasmussen OH2 - Wagoner OPP - Hellvig M1 - Westerberg M2 - Igiede DS - Gong L - Hanawahine
If Riley Wagoner can be like a Kalei Greeley -- dependable in all areas but not necessarily flashy/spectacular -- I'd call that a win. Greeley wasn't dominant or flashy but she got her kills and was a good passer. I know squat about Akana. Wait a second, I now squat about all the incoming freshmen. LOL!

Iosia would be subbed out for Choy when she rotates to the back row in this scenario.

Are you people confused?? If Iosia rotates to the back row she will be setting and a hiiter will sub in for Choy. When Iosia rotates to the front row, she will play OPP and no need hit back row.
Choy and Iosia would not sub each other out. Choy would be subbed out and replace with a hitter. If Norene is subbed out, she would be subbed out for another hitter.
There is no scenario where Bailey and Noreen sub each other out.
