If this team gets healthy and returns to early form, they can cause some teams trouble (that was the case with UW), but a sustained run, especially all the way to a title, is a different story altogether.
Kefir makes you tipsy. That made me smile, although some russian kefir probably will make you drunk. That's how they roll.

Van Sickle's only flaw is that she doesn't know how to dribble the ball. She has to look down at the ball and sometimes, the ball bounces off her feet. LOL! Here's an example (I've keyed it to start at the relevant footage):

Brooke's return was a lifesaver in Sunday's UCD match, her digging and passing skills are light year's ahead of what Ross, Sibley and either of the 2 liberos bring to the court. Our back court defense transformed pretty much on cue after she was inserted into the lineup. But yeah, she needs to work on her dribbling skills. I can't wait for JR's return, like Brooke we need her game savvy and consistency on the floor. These 2 Oregon transfers, Noreen, Bailey and Amber are game changers, we need the others to elevate their play and be consistently good.

There are a lot of players who can't dribble. I sort of remember one who was so horrible, she would almost always lose control of the ball during a pre-serve dribble ritual. It was very awkward. Can't remember which player. I want to say it was Tayler Higgins or Kalei Greeley but that's probably not right.

I'm so glad that she's back and can't wait for Jolie to return. Skylar Williams has been playing lights out all season, though. She leads the BW in hitting percentage both for overall games (includes preseason) and BW only games. Sky hit .421 so far overall. Igiede is 2nd at .389. In conference (so more recently), Sky has been hitting .432, which is phenomenal, and Igiede, who is 8th is hitting .364 (not too shabby for a freshman). I think they've both been excellent but, for some reason, Sky tends to get overlooked when ppl talk about key Hawai'i players. I'm not sure why bc she's one of the best players in the BW.

Hellvig should consider either backing up before serving or putting top spin on her serve so that it lands on the court. Her serves often land well beyond the end line. Just my two cents. You know folks, this thread is actually real nice without the personal attacks and back & forth bickering along with all the commentary drivel. I do wish it could last more than two weeks....well one week now.

Even if she contacts at mid plane she has a longer wing span so the ball can soar. But if she contacts it high and down that serve can be even nastier.

I wonder if dribbling the ball helps their concentration or nerves before they serve? If you notice or pay attention the girls that do usually keep the serve in.

A fast low floater.

I don't have any doubts about an Irvine sweep if BVS is playing

Hellvig does well in interviews. Doesn't say anything anything that's TMI, or anything regrettable or confusing, or that could wind up on the opposition's locker room wall. Keeps it short and sweet. But the rest of the team and coaching staff all need a short course in Risk Communication. How odd it is that a young 18-year old Swedish foreign student is the team's best communicator.

Hellvig has mastered the skill of public interviews from observing her most glorious and honorable mentor Robyn Ah Mow. 😂🤣😆. I was just kidding. Brooke always cracks me up when she does interviews, I don’t know if she means to be funny but to me she just is.
