They finished the 2nd part of the Pac-10 with only 1 loss (to Cal to start the 2nd part). They avenged their 1st round loss to UW and USC but lost to Cal the 2nd time around.
Good finish for the Cardinal!

I was so nervous logging on thinking of how Arizona sounded last nite over Cal. Thank god Ogonna was there to carry Richards on her shoulders again.

Wasn't expecting a sweep by Stanford over Arizona. In fact, I thought the Cardinal will lose to Arizona in a hotly contested match what with their dismantling of Cal last night. But it seems like the Cardinal is peaking at the right time. And indeed, Ogonna will carry this team as far as she can!

I thought that Stanford would win but I didn't expect a sweep.

Wow, that is 9 wins for Stanford for the month of November. All three games sweeps except for the UCLA and UW match.

Saw the game last night and UA was simply out coached. Stanford had a double block up on the left side leaving UA's right sides and middles open. Rubio never wanted to mix it up. He insisted on setting the left side and Stanford was there. Rubio lives and dies with Glass, although he doesn't even coach her. When she starts to tire and jump serves into the net you'd think he'd tell her to just hit it over without the jump. It's like someone on this board said a few weeks ago, he has a Ferrari but doesn't know how to drive it. Very predictable for the opposition. With this tactic I don't expect they will go too far in the playoffs. Too bad, as UA has the talent to match and beat any team given the opportunity if properly coached.

DClaude you couldn't be more wrong. If you watched the match as you say then you didn't pay attention to the timeouts taken by Rubio. He was talking to Butkus all the time about spreading the ball around in situations. Match stats indicate that Glass had 39 attempts, Abernathy had 25, Ladd had 22 and Killough 18. That is NOT a disproportionate ratio. Kim got set for some back row attacks that are part of the system and because Stanfords serving was very strong all night Arizona had trouble with serve receive which is going to lead to high outside sets as you must know. Was Rubio being out coached when they had leads in the 2nd and third games and couldn't hold them ? No, coaches coach and players play, period. Give credit to Stanford and leave it at that. Butkus had bad passes to deal with and frankly her set location put the OHs' in difficult spots down the stretch. This was a match that Arizona could have taken into the 4th game with a lead and didn't which is very disappointing, but coaching was not the reason why.

Saw the match too - if you thought AZ had poor passing to deal with.....Stanford's was not much better................
