Yes it depends on the school and such but for signing ceremonies, a lot of walk on "sign" a ceremonial letter of intent and stuff.

I’m new to all this and absolutely love UH and the coaches, it’s a great story with such successful players returning to their alma maters to coach! NCAA D1 universities need more successful female coaches. We’ve enjoyed going to a few of the games when the team played in California. I must say-UH fans are passionate. Got a couple of questions concerning NLI day. Do players that are “walk on” or no scholarship sign? More of a ceremonial thing for those players? Second question-if a player decommits-is that typically announced or is it a situation that is handled quietly? Someone mentioned this situation earlier in a post. Haven’t been able to find these two scenarios discussed on volleytalk. Thanks for any follow-up. My understanding, the de-committed has a no talk understanding. Only when the new school announces the commitment, then the public will know. Of course, if the old school has also committed a new player, they may make it known that someone de-committed. Feel free to correct me.

Hmm... I thought if you only verbally committed, you are not officially on board yet. So if that person de-commit, that team cannot say anything publicly since that player was never part of that program.
Sounds like most de-commit announcement are done by the players themselves, their HS or club coaches or friends and not the school that lost out.
If the player signed and then leaves, then that team can say that "John Doe" have left and is no longer with the program.

I thought the schools had the gag order.

Not starting a rumor, but I feel that if any Wahine were to transfer or leave, it would be Krug. It is obvious she is the #4 middle, and after redshirting this year, she will be the same class as Igide and Westerberg.
Krug does have potential to play on other teams.

Krug is not going to transfer, she is Majoring in Hawaiian Language, what University besides the University of Hawaii has that as a Major. Also, Krug will be the backup Middle next year, not the #4 Middle, since Robyn is looking at Westerberg as either a Left, or Right Side Hitter. Krug also has the potential to be the Starting Middle come 2021, as a Junior, after Williams finishes her Wahine career.

Correct me if i’m wrong but Krug is on academic scholarship so if she leaves I don’t think she will get the same benefits in another school. She started on some sets last season. She knows everybody has equal chance to get PT.

She knows everybody has equal chance to get PT. Krug is a dominant player. In high school, she was THE offense and when blocking, THE defense. It's more than volleyball for her, it's about Hawai'i and being Hawaiian.

Krug, in spurts last year, has shown what a Dominant Middle she can be, once she is as close to 100% healthy as she can be. If Krug can stay healthy, I can see her teaming with Igiede in the Middle come 2021, giving the Wahine two very physical Middles. Something the Wahine have not had for a while now.

Anyways, you know, Most of these girls were pretty dominant at their high schools. I read that Riley was THE player in her league, the same for JR and BVS. Also Amber towered over everyone. Norene was one of two dominant setters in So. Cal. So I guess that's what happens on D1 teams, most come with a pedigree to boot. It's how you adjust to this level that makes the difference.

Isn't Krug majoring in Hawaiian language or Hawaiian studies? I doubt she can fulfill her academic goals at other colleges, although I admit I haven't looked at other college catalogs (because why would I?). If she really is as dominant as everyone says she is, then she should have no problems battling it out against Igiede, Williams, and Westerberg next year. I've seen her in some matches last year and she was surprisingly good, often better than Sarah Liva.

Why she did not play more last year was her knee issue in my opinion, anyway. As for Westerberg, it is my opinion, Robyn is targeting her to play either the Left, or Right side. Will only play Middle in an emergency. I thought Krug is majoring in Hawaiian Language, but I could be wrong, and you could be right, she could be majoring in Hawaiian Studies. Without even looking, do not see many, or any, college with that major, except for universities in Hawaii.

This was posted on Tiff Wells twitter
"#hawaiiwvb expecting to sign 2 tomorrow and just as a reminder, a walk-on doesn’t sign an #NLI"
Anyone know who the second one would be? Kate Lang would be one.
