Moving onto B1GGER things Michigan State? Or Northwestern? Michigan State. Interesting move in that, this kind of thing usually happens in the reverse.

Maybe this lines her up to be the next head coach there. Looks like most of her key players will graduate this year (except one that appears to have taken a red shirt) and were brought in by the previous staff. Maybe she sees that it’s downhill from here with the players her administration brought in and get out while she can.

Many B1G schools pay one or more assistants more than the majority of D1 head coaches make. I don't know the particulars about this case.

I think the bigger underlying issue here is that EMU is having financial troubles. They had to cut several sports teams last year, and who knows what lay ahead in the years to come. So Kimi probably left to a better gig and didn't want to deal with slashing budgets.

Am I the only one who sees a bunch of 1- and 2-year stops as an assistant as a bad thing (even if they are in theory "trading up")? Totally agree, but it's great how those hires help keep our volleyball salaries low. Thanks..... Not this time...

This whole sequence is confounding. Kelsay leaves MSU to go to NWU. A young coach moving up? Maybe. Breaking ay from her comfort zone since she played at MSU. Ok, good forward thinking move. EMU HC to probably a second assistant role? A pre- emptive move because she's got the feeling with the resources at EMU, probably a good move. So why didn't NWU hire the EMU HC?

Most likely an Associate Head Coach position for EMU coach. Kelsay gets to move home and spread wings. All makes sense.

Although you are correct regarding the Associate Head tag at MSU - - I'm more concerned about her not actually winning with "her kids" at EMU? Someone stated that earlier and I wonder how that is even possible with her being there for 4 years?! IF TRUE (Big If) this is the best "Bait and Switch" you may ever see in College Sports!
