Megan Easy looks great. She should be in the Gym for team USA. That ship has sailed. I don't see why they wouldn't call her back if she started killing it again.

Haak seems to continue where she left off last season... If Sweden doesn't get much better, Haak might end up being the most unfairly overlooked and underestimated superstar in female volleyball, because in modern volleyball, you can't be a true superstar with just your club achievements. No matter how many dream teams and MVPs she gets in Italian league, she will never be mentioned in the same breath as Zhu, Boskovic or Egonu if her NT is not even guaranteed to even qualify for European Championship, let alone do something at the Big 3 of FIVB competitions. Then she should move to America. Or maybe Karch’s castoffs should move to Sweden...

Bricio is in the same situation.

I think that this is the year that Fabris can enter that select group of top tier attacker's with no NT exposure especially if Imoco can out duel Egonu and Novara in A1 and either Bosko or Zhu in CL. An exciting time for Club volleyball this year.

An exciting time for Club volleyball this year. As far as I am concerned, she entered that company with her last season's performances, though if Imoco manages to defend their title, that would truly be an enormous credit to her and her fellow teammates. Novara really has no excuse not to sweep this season, because their whole starting lineup is (except libero) comprised of world-class players, something than no other club in the world (or even any NT) except for Imoco can claim, but: 1)Egonu has improved enormously in the last year 2)It's a question mark how good de Kruijf will be after she returns from her serious injury

How much Carlini will improve from last season. She was quite up-and-down last season, especially her connection with Scandicci's middles was inconsistent. From the first match of Novara against Brescia last week, she did a much better job setting her middles. We just need to see if she can keep on her performance at this level as season goes on. I really hope Carlini can improve her games in her second pro season. If so, it will be a hugely good news for USAWNT as well, as we all saw Lloyd's performance at WCH.... 2. Passing. Or more precisely, how to effectively utilize the outsides. MBH and Plak are both good attackers, but not good passers. Piccinini is very good at defence and passing, but she is almost 40, her attack at the front row is a weak point. I am not familiar with the other Argentina player, but I've heard that she is pretty good. So how to put up the best OH duo, is the question for Barbolini.

The second round just finished, let's see we what we've got here: Scandicci 0-3 Novara. Busto Arsizio 3-1 Monza Casalmaggiore 3-0 Bergamo Brescia 3-1 Firenze Chieri 1-3 Cuneo Club Italia 1-3 Fillottrano.
It seems that I cannot post images to this forum, so if you're wondering about players' stats, they are available on the league website.
