Natalie Glenn 5'10" OH from Southlake, TX. Another undersized OH for the 2021 class:
Anna Wolf 6'3" MB from River Falls, Wisconsin Emme Bullis 5'11" S/OH from Whitewater, Wisconsin Skylar Gray 5'10" OH from Maple Grove, MN Natalie Glenn 5'10" OH from Southlake, TX
Wonder if one of our MB recruits would be interested in swinging to the OH position. Of course, these girls may grow an inch.

She hits and jumps like a 6’2+ I’ve been seeing these TAV 16-black girls play for the past three years at various tournaments and they can jump! No need to worry.

Much better than hitting and jumping like she's 4'2" -- which is what my players do.

Of course, these girls may grow an inch. Girls stop growing at roughly age 14-15, or a couple of years after menstruation. I could show you charts and graphs. There are, of course, some exceptions. My daughter stopped growing at age 16 which was very traumatic for her because she suddenly outgrew her friends. Treated like an outcast after that.

2020: Shaffmaster the Elder (S) Landfair (OH/OPP?) Appiani (DS) and now Wenaas (OH)
2020 will see the graduations of Samedy and Pittman among the current projected starters. Should be fun to watch.
Recent-ish match of Munciana. Includes Shaffmaster, who the parents in the background were commenting on (around the 7:00 mark you can hear one dad admit he can't even be mad about a play she made because it was "the right thing"), tOSU's Murr, Yale's Bostic, and UNC's Shaffmaster the Younger. I wonder when the last time Munciana Samurai had majority 18 yos on the 18s team. Shaff the Elder went from 15s to 18s, Murr went from 16s to 18s, and I think Bostic had a similar situation.

If so, why is Shaffmaster running a 5-1 instead of going 6-2 and utilizing that arm? I'm a bit surprised by the lack of arms on this team. Munciana seems to be missing a good outlet scorer in the mold of their prior pin stars like Robinson, Parker, Skjodt, and Gillis.

You are correct (just checked)! I haven't seen Shaffmaster take many swings in general, even in the 6-2 with Parker (Mel set Jonni a lot, but not the other way around except for when Mel was on the left during receive). And holy... those are some big alums from Munciana. Add Quade to that list (but from what I gather, she's grown a LOT since prep). An almost stupid amount of B1G talent. Edit: ay2013 I have no clue why quoting you did some weird formatting thing, but I'll tag you here. Edit 2: I might have fixed the formatting. Will see upon posting. Anyway, it's surprising Indiana hasn't harnessed a few of Munciana's alums (and one could argue KIVA, no?) like how Minn has been able to snag lots of homegrown talent. Edit 3: I should not be allowed to quote unless someone tutors me how to quote PART of a thread. Jeez.

I don’t care what anyone says those Shaffmaster girls are some athletically built kids. They remind me of TAV players who are wickedly athletic. As opposed to TStreet breed who are more technically sound, and not so much on athleticism. Plummer was a gem for TStreet.

If you go to the Gopherhole WBB board 2020 recruiting thread, there is a discussion about Lauren Ware from Bismarck.
She is a top 50 basketball player who was state POY in both volleyball & basketball. You can tell by the Top 10 that volleyball is important - Minnesota, Nebraska, Texas, Stanford, Florida, and Oregon are in there. The other 4 are Arizona, ASU, LSU & Iowa.
She would technically be a walk-on for volleyball, since it would be a basketball scholarship.

I would be surprised if Hugh doesn't land one. I don't see how he believes Shaffmaster can run his preferred tempo.

Tall setters can run a quick offense even if they don't have the foot speed. It would mean that Minnesota would have to have stellar passing to facilitate the quick sets and a big outside hitter to clean up the rest. We will have that hitter in Taylor Landfair and now Jenna Wenaas. The passing, on the other hand, is yet to be seen. Minnesota has good passing, not great. If Hugh wants Shaffmaster to set, I trust his judgement. He hasn't been wrong about a setter. However, you can't run a decent practice without two setters, and I believe the coaching staff would prefer three. I, myself, would like to see someone compete with Shaffmaster for the spot next year.
