How old is Li Yingying? Gotta be a little concerned about her on the NT if she isn't receiving on her club team. I just don't know if China could have both Zhu and LYY on the court if she is not able to pass.
Not saying Zhu is a bad passer by any means, but she can have her moments where she struggles.

She just turned 19 last month. Yeah, it'll be a big problem for Lang Ping. Zhu is the go to offense for China with the opposite and second outside hitter focused on covering her. Having Li Yingying on the same court puts more of a defensive pressure on Zhu.

I predict Beijing wins the series 3-0 or 3-1.

Well, I think either she will have to start receiving or she won't remain on the NT.

I predict Beijing wins the series 3-0 or 3-1. I hope so too. Tianjin has won 11 times already. Time for another champion. Still, never count out Tianjin at this point. The first two games in the final were real close-calls, it could have gone either way. Beijing better not get complacent now or Tianjin will come roaring back.

Last season most people thought Shanghai was going to win because Tianjin started to look tired and worn out, but they were able to come back. Does Li YY have enough in her tank to win these next 3 games? It certainly will be a tough task to accomplish alone.

Madi probably feels the same though all she did was practically sit on the bench. I wonder what their plans are for next season.

These players include Li Yingying, backup setter Yao Di, and middle blocker Wang Yuanyuan.

That is true, though I believe they will stay with the NT for a few weeks before returning to their club in order to prepare for the tournament. Both Li Yingying and Yao Di are currently training with the NT, while Wang Yuanyuan is expected to return sometime soon. Tianjin are hosts for the Asian Club Championships which will take place on April 27 to May 5. The setter position will be short one person while Yao Di goes to prepare for the Asian Club Championship, leaving only Ding Xia and Diao Linyu. After the Rio Olympics the coaching staff has had trouble finding a good backup for Ding Xia. Yao Di and Diao Linyu have been the only options, but still have yet to make a major impact. This year, Lang Ping invited an 18 year old setter who took part in the 1st training and beat out three others.

In the Chinese Volleyball League (CVL), she seems pretty average to me and seems to be in over her head when given a chance to play with the national team. Also, from watching the league this winter, I think that Shanghai's starting setter is the 2nd best setter in all of China. I seem to be the only one who thinks that way.

I agree, Diao Linyu is pretty mediocre. Her sets are generally inaccurate, but also awkward looking. They must have hope for her in 2024 because I know for sure she won't be going to Tokyo in 2020. Yao Di who is currently Ding Xia's best substitute has hit a plateau these past few years and her skills haven't improved in my opinion. I've also noticed the performance of Shanghai's setter Bian Yuqian since last season and she has some skills worth getting a look at. They should at least give her a chance on the B team.
