Denver (43) - This is where things really start to get dicey. I don't know what to do with Denver, Hawaii, and Kansas State. Denver (27-2) has the "High Point" advantage with RPI. They are low 40's in RPI with a T50 win, is that good enough? I've seen resume's similar to this be LEFT OUT of the tournament before, and particularly hurting Denver's case is their awful S.O.S. I have Denver as the last team in the NCAA Tournament right now, only because of their RPI really. One win against Saint Mary's shouldn't be good enough to make the tournament. Interestingly, Denver can match Hawaii's other T100 wins (UCSB and UC Irvine). With a better RPI as well, the only Hawaiian advantage is that Cal Poly is a better win than Denver's over Saint Mary's. Now when it comes to Kansas State, it is a matter of how many spots the committee is willing to have them jump in over Denver. The biggest difference between Denver 2018 and High Point 2017 is how they put together their non-conference schedule. High Point played a schedule to earn an at large. Northern Illinois, Cal Poly, Dayton, VCU, LSU, and NC State all either made the tournament in the previous season or in 2017 (as at large caliber teams). Plus they played Power 5 opponents Oklahoma and Georgia. Denver scheduled St. Mary's and Utah this year and not much else. Their other T100 opponents are UC Irvine, Navy and UCSB. I almost always pull for mid-majors, but I hope the committee does not reward the lack of ambition that Denver's coach showed in making that schedule.

n00b I’m in agreeance that it’s disappointing how these teams with gaudy records schedule, but why on earth do you reward a team simply for scheduling? High Point didn’t beat anyone. I don’t see why High Point last year is better than Denver this year. High Point didn’t beat anybody and had much more chances than Denver. Denver had two chances this year — and beat one of them (St. Mary’s) while losing to Utah. Rewarding High Point for beating nobody while leaving Maryland out (who beat T25 teams Purdue and USC) was just such a huge error. North Texas was worse off last year than Denver because they had a worse RPI. Denver is in slight better RPI position.

With Denver’s SOS, there is no doubt they would have a record of 27-2. Colorado or K-State would have gotten a 29-0. Hawaii, with its inconsistencies this season, would have probably had the same or worse record than Denver’s. K-state lost at home to the same Texas Tech team that Long Beach st. & Ucsb defeated. You're giving K-state too much credit. LOL

Summit - South Dakota || At-Large: Denver

The summit has a conference tournament for the automatic bid so I don't know why you are giving it to south dakota or making them the favorite over Denver?
If Denver gets the auto bid that opens up one more at-large spot. With K-state just losing at home to Texas Tech I would make Hawaii the last team in.

South Dakota beat Denver in the Summit championship - done deal. I would be surprised if Summit League will be a two team league over Big West, which is arguably the 7th best conference in the country.

Texas jumped Illinois in RPI. Maybe that's good enough, maybe not... Should not be enough. Illinois has a better overall record, more Top25 wins and no bad losses. What is the definition of a bad loss? Is it an actual category that the committee considers?

Not sure it is something the selection committee uses. I know it is talked about quite a bit in Men’s BB selection. I made the statement because all three Illinois losses are to Top 10 teams. Texas lost to Kansas, who is 36 in RPI and are not getting any votes for Top 25.

Lol if Nebraska is looking at a #7 seed I might start my campaign to switch Stanford and BYU for 1 and 2. Though how stunning would it be for Stanford not to make the final 4...
