The real question is does UCLA stand a chance of a good season or will they again miss the NCAAs They lost their setter and best middle and their outsides have been weak for a couple of years They won't be good, but they will make the playoffs. The would have made it last year without the hurricane. The setter they lost was good on paper and may be good for MN but was barely used at UCLA so it's not like a big piece left. Similar for MB, they will miss what she could have been, but they won't miss her actual production from last year. Most everyone else is back with a year more experience. The setter was the primary setter last year, had twice as many assists as the freshman upstart. Sealy tried to replace her early in the season but by conference time had gone back to her and she played almost all the rest of the way. The middle was frankly, the only efficient offensive option - UCLA isn't returning any hitter who saw significant time and hit over .211 last year.

if they have a decent season, Sealy will probably get more time. I really don't think he will replicate his early success. He may be calm but have his rough edges too. He may help UCLA won a national title but he was also responsible for the first non winning season (2013) and the first losing season. I wont be sad if UCLA has a terrible season again as long as he does not stay

Anyone know what 2 schools they only play once this year? Last year it was the mountain schools. UCLA/USC used to be the hardest trip but it seems to be getting easier. I think the hardest trip now is the Washington schools.

You can only blame the assistant coaches so many times before people realize it's you.

He has tried to replace his top ten senior ace setter all 3 years when each year she doesn't appear to have any real competition. Yes the MB is good, but her numbers were down across the board in k/s, hitting percentage and blocking. When the pins suck but your MB kills are down, it shows just how bad their ball control was. I will be very curious to see how she does at her new gig. That will say a lot about both UCLA and her. It’s not a ringing endorsement but it’s also not “barely played.” And she was the better option there. And even if gates numbers were down, they were still very good and she was the only UCLA player who could say that. Prematurely losing the teams only bright spot doesn’t inspire confidence in the rebound. I don’t get how you go from that to thinking they won’t miss her.

Southern Cal NJIT MIT Caltech Creighton Florida The is a strange mix but I assume it's because of some sort of personal or family connection. I only have one favorite team: Hawaii I don't follow the sports teams of any other school, including my alma maters. I'm a bad alum. NJIT, MIT, Caltech play hard and always compete.........................they lose quite a bit. Florida and Creighton...............both have great women coach's. Southern Cal close by and have had many great players in their history.

How long does Sealy get to show he cannot recruit and this coming season lost argueably his two best returning players?
