Wow. Did not take long for her to be removed from UC's 2018 AND 2017 roster. Almost as if it never happened.
Yeah, that was a little weird. Looks like the OHs are going like hotcakes (schools are not waiting around to pick them up).

Leah Meyer, Duke MB, 6-3. Averaged 2.5 kills/set, hitting .375 with 1.44 blocks per set this year. I assume that's who we're talking about given she's been added to the first post and the date listed is today. I think she already knows where she wants to go.

Reduced playing opportunities for American girls is certainly a legitimate concern. Look at what Title IX did to opportunities for male wrestlers, gymnasts and fencers. These guys devote thousands of dollars and training hours to their sport with little opportunity for a scholarship, certainly not a full scholarship. Almost every single D1 school sponsors women's volleyball. Fewer scholarships or playing time isn't really a pressing issue. Most of the schools that have a high percentage of foreign players are using it as shortcut to leap frog in competitiveness. If they're successful, in theory, that would allow them to attract better domestic recruits. Half of Vanderbilt's team are foreign. I think they should be sanctioned...

International players - someone was saying this is a Syracuse thing? To me, it's usually a rebuilding thing, or a pipeline thing - for example, American has had several international players for years; they don't make drastic improvements, but if they do, for example, they'll be able to go after domestic recruits once they respect the program a little after building with international players who play at a level that you perhaps wouldn't get in the US, with no chance to then get better to gain some traction on US recruiting soil. One thing noteworthy was that this is the first year I've noticed (in several years at least) that Chris Poole has not had an international player.
American University: 5 of 15 Arizona State: 5 of 16 UALR - 8 of 12 Chicago State - 4 of 15 Coastal Carolina - 5 of 13 FAMU - 9 of 14 FIU - 7 of 18 Cincinnati - 4 of 18 Syracuse - 7 of 16 Temple - 5 of 14 VCU - 4 of 16 Rutgers - 7 of 11
(I started going alphabetically, then skipped to those I know often have international players - Syracuse doesn't really stand out amongst these to me, and I only got through the Fs by the time I gave up and looked at the final 5 listed.)

(The Nebraska PA announcer earned his pay the night of the 1st round NCAA match!)

She's a redshirt junior; I assume she's graduating after finals this semester? Basically, a grad transfer.

I heard of a pretty big name that is seriously thinking about jumping into the transfer market. Upper echelon teams start counting your scholarships...

The player isn't for sure leaving, just thinking hard about it. If she decides to stay, it wouldn't endear her to her coaches and teammates going forward. If she was for sure leaving and just hadn't announced (or if/when that happens), I'd DM about it.
