Payton Chang from Stanford is redshirting indoor this year and will be a graduate transfer according to Stanford Athletics. Not sure where she’s landing but hopefully in Hawaii where she can be a good back up. Chang might wanna finally play her last year. I think she’s come in to serve maybe once in 4 years. She hasn’t played really in a match since high school. I see her going to a smaller school where she can play Well...good luck to her. Even at “smaller school” like Hawaii, she will have a hard to cracking the lineup. If she served so infrequent, it’s a sign that she does not have what it takes to play high level D1 level volleyball As desperate as we are for a DS/Libero, I don’t think Robyn is going to take someone at the end of other school’s bench...even if it from the number one team in the country. I guess she is welcome to walk on if she doesn’t mind paying out of state tuition at Hawaii and still face the possibility of sitting on the bench here. Her smart choice would be to stay in California, find a school in your home state that need a libero and spend the year there. Maybe a school like Irvine or CSUN or USF would be a better choice for her.

Payton Chang is a setter. No Gavin......DEVON Chang is a setter. PAYTON is a back row player. MAHALO! Payton Chang is the back up setter at Stanford. She is capable of playing as a DS as well, but she trains as a setter. Listed as a Setter/DS on the roster at Stanford. Maybe don't call people out if you aren't even going to bother a simple Google search?

Appearing in only 10 sets as a JR. is not good. A JR should be further along in their development and should be playing more than 10 sets A freshman or sophomore play in only 10 sets is OK but not for a JR.

Payton Chang is a setter. No Gavin......DEVON Chang is a setter. PAYTON is a back row player. MAHALO! She is listed as one for st fords roster however she is their backup setter. Kathryn Plummer was listed as a setter her freshman year so don’t trust rosters they are always janky. Chang set club and high school and has never played left back for a team so will 100% not be transferred as a libero or ds. She is t that great at defense. She is a setter. When Stanford went to Europe, they subbed her in as a setter when Stanford was killing. She will set wherever she transfers if she plays.

Payton Chang is a setter. No Gavin......DEVON Chang is a setter. PAYTON is a back row player. MAHALO! Payton was a setter before Stanford and has been the back-up setter during her time there. She is listed and might play as a DS because that's the role (barring injury) that likely would get her court time.

Well, she's the back up setter to one of the top setters in the nation and has been since her arrival at Stanford (first with Bugg, then with Gray). Not a whole lot of sets to play with those two in front of you.

Peyton is going to graduate from Stanford then save her 5th year for whatever school she attends for Grad School. She was a setter in both Club and high school. If you asked her she would say that she is a setter

Well...then don’t blame me if the official Stanford website cannot give out accurate information. I ain’t an insider so I have to rely on the school website to get information out. She was listed as a DS even in her freshman year until her JR. so I’m just don’t know what to say. gostanford.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=7671Lookie here....this dispute about Payton being a setter or DS is getting out of hand. I will just wish her luck wherever she goes. If she wants to come to UH, then we will welcome her with open arms.

Won’t happen if you don’t reply on things you don’t know about

I don't understand the reasons for the lengthy discussion about Devon or Peyton Chang.
