just for fun ucsdfan, could you grade everyones draft list It's premature to grade, but I will say that the different approaches were pretty fun to see. Here is my oberservation of how the picking went. Volleyfan24 had the curse of picking first, because that means 23 players are off the board before picking again. Ma'a is by far the best player from a statistics persective, gettiing aces, digs, and a few kills here and there. His assist totals are strong and he never leaves the court. That was a great first pick, which is why five other people also had Ma'a first on their lists. Getting Kalchev in the fifth round was solid as well. Good job for having a bad position in the draft. No one drafting first has ever won the fantasy league. vollegal did the perfect second pick, getting someone who gets kills, block, and aces at a position that can be deadweight in fantasy. Kofi may have an expanded roll this season hitting back row, meaning he could get hitting numbers closer to pin hitters while still getting blocks. Vollegal's strategy in terms of draft list was well done but might have been thrown off when Corey was still on the board at #23. Picking up an IVA player with good numbers may prove to be the most important move to win the league. Chakravorti was a great pick in that he'll have lots of options for racking up assists. Getting Fisher with the next to last pick may be the coup of the draft. I'm not sure about the other two picks as they seem like risky fillers. volleyballbro did the smart thing with his first pick getting a great number generator from the CC, a conference with only about three players who will put up good numbers. Angelo Mandalaris was high on three other draft lists for this reason. Volleyballbro is one of a few people who got strong numbers at all six spots. Getting Garcia in the fifth round was an absolute steal. Another person draftng had Garcia really high, but a different EIVA player was listed higher, so Garcia fell to the fifth round. Keegan is a great sixth round pickup. Volleyballbro was wise in getting one of the four producers from the IVA with his second pick, which was well played. PassSetKill did pretty well as a newcomer. Hanes could be a great pickup as the primary option in the tOSU offense. Hanes could very well get Patchesque numbers in many games. Getting Tuaniga in the third round is a steal. if he recovers from his surgery well. Stacking the draft list with players from the three big conferences may prove to be costly, as that meant have to settle for crumbs in the three less talent-heavy conferences. Kohlhase may put up strong numbers as the only returning pin hitter, but King has a new setter so that's a bit risky. eastcoast is back after a few seasons away and came out strong. Picking in the middle is always great for this league. Ensing is a great fifth overall pick and Coenen puts up consistent numbers week in and week out. Good choices to start. Perisic may be a steal in that he puts up great blocking numbers and comes from the conference where it's hard to find a player to consistently fill the stat columns. McClaren is a fantastic fifth round pick as perhaps the only definite starter at PSU besides Braswell. Mullahey was a very nice addition n the last round. ep got the player with the best EIVA numbers early, which was strategic. Vargas is a solid second round pick. I didn't realize what they were doing with their CC pick at the time, but after seeing it play out I think it was a brilliant, albeit risky strategy. They found a way to take advantage of the rules, so while I thought they were planning to take a loss in assists each week hoping to gain in the other four categories, their plan actually means they could win asissts many weeks. Their draft day trades were very strategic as well. Gopherguy1 started the run on setters by taking a strong one who gets value in three catehories, especially digs. Having no libero this season, setters who get digs will be critical. Vigo in the sixth round could be an absolute steal. Erskine is such an unknown, so taking their top recruit could be an absolute coup. It was a great way to spend a last pick. I think digs will go to Gopherguy1 nearly every week, meaning a split in the remaining four categories leads to a win. A very good strategy by someone who perhaps was once a libero (maybe libero93 even). vballfreak808 is a great vet of the league who adapts well to the changes we invoke each year. Well played getting one of perhaps only two middles who will fill up the stat sheet every week. I'm utterly amazed that Fernandez was there for the taking in the seocnd round, so another well played pick. Thomas in the fifth, even with a likely drop in asissts after losing AirFrance at the pins to graduation, was a steal. Jackson in the sixth may be the second best sixth round pick behind Fisher. Getting a solid number generator from the CC is essential to win, and doing it in the last round is solid. I think Hermedia might be the hidden gem of the draft being in the IVA now. Overall, a fantastic draft. Stanlifornia spent his early picks filling in spots from the weaker conferenes and then inherited a bigtime OH in the sixth round with Chavers. That was a huge plus and he played on what he figured others would do beautifully. He spent his first two picks getting the biggest numbers from the IVA and CC, but then surprisingly didn't sacrifice much with his later picks from the bigger conferences. He pulled a coup by picking the forgotten Paul Bischoof, who was on only one other draft list. A healthy Bischoff will get some great assist numbers every week. Mende and Schindler were great fourth and fifth round picks. Stanlifornia definitely nailed all six spots in this draft. CollegiateZ locked down the OH spot with the best OH in the game and a great numbers guy with a second round pick. This is proably why his/her draft list had no oppsoites on it, figuring they'd fill that spot with whoever after getting solid numbers at the other two pin spots. Well played. The theme in their draft list was getting players who are on teams returning nearly everyone, so their 2019 numbers will likely be close to their 2018 numbers. Very tactical. Getting a MB who gets aces from a conference with limited options was a great fourth round pick. PAVolleyball got an unbelievable first round pick who I thought would be off the board within the first three or four picks. A tip of the cap for being brave enough to keep players likely to go early at the top of your list. Two strong pin hitters at the eleventh spot in the draft was great. Definitely drafted some filler in the later rounds. I totally get trading to upgrade at setter, because they are the one player that essentially has a category to themselves. I also think their strategy to try to corner two other categories and win 3-2 each week was well thought, but they gave up too much in trades chasing this strategy. burned got saddled with the second worst drafting position. Your draft list was top notch and despite your top five picks being off the board by the time you picked. In the later rounds, you picked up some diamonds others overlooked. With Concordia having to fill in three starting jobs, Howell will get a lot of work and have strong middle numbers, an area where many people will lack. Tilburg is Tilburg and will give you good stats in aces, kills, and digs. How Bkrovic slipped to the fourth round is a mystery to me, but what a great fourth round pick. Despite leaving the tougher three conferences to pick from until the end, they got good value in the CC and EIVA.

Can you post the roster for each team It's the second post in this thread, but keep in mind that it is the result of the draft and some trades. You can also see the draft order in about the tenth post. Maybe you'll join us for next season!

Two people have PMed me about roster changes. The rule is that you can only make a roster change prior to the first week if a player you drafted is no longer on a team's roster. This will allow the particiapant the chance to fill that spot from the current general pool. If you wish to make roster changes for week 2, then you are welcome to submit those at any time. They will be accepted in a first request wins fashion. I will post week 2 roster changes around December 29.

Well the season is officially underway! Good luck to everyone.
The rosters, schedule, and roster change page are all up to date. Just one redshirt change to deal with during the first week. Anyone who wants to submit roster changes for week 2 can do so at anytime up until the official start of week 2. I posted one week 3 change for a player who is the only one from his conference playing his position, meaning no one else can make a claim to that player in week 2.

Week 1 is in the books. Congratulations Volleyfan24 for getting the only sweep of the week. I will try to have scores posted on Sundays when possible, and have trades and add/drpps updated as they happen.
The waiver wire was more active than expected leading into week 2, with a flury of add/drops made just ahead of the deadline. We had our first dropped player (dropped in week 2) claimed by someone else (starting in week 3), so the one add/dropper week is looking to be a nice change from last season to spice things up.

We had our first dropped player (dropped in week 2) claimed by someone else (starting in week 3), so the one add/dropper week is looking to be a nice change from last season to spice things up. If only I had an opposite! This is the first year that IVA players have been included, and it has added a weird twist. Picking a bench player and getting 0s across the boatrd would have been helpful to three people this week. On a different note, this might be the most balanced our league has ever been. Next week is the first full week, so it's unlikely that one hot player can single-handedly win the week for anyone. It's nuts that a sixth round pick (Chavers) won three categories (kills, aces, and digs) by himself this week. Your first overall pick put up great numbers as usual. This week's overachievers were: Chavers: 36 net kills, 4 aces, 16 digs, and 3.0 blocks Kalchev: 27 net kills, 1 assist, 8 aces, 14 digs, and 1.5 blocks Ma'a: 3 net kills, 67 assists, 5 aces, 14 digs, and 2.5 blocks Huhmann 26 net kills, 2 assists, 2 aces, 4 digs, and 5.5 blocks Vargas: 22 net kills, 2 assists, 2 aces, 14 digs, and 1.0 blocks Schnedimiller: 23 net kills, 4 assists, 4 aces, 12 digs, and 3.0 blocks Missry: 22 net kills, 1 assists, 2 aces, 7 digs, and 1.5 blocks Andersen: 20 net kills, 1 assists, 3 aces, and 2.0 blocks Howell: 14 net kills, 2 aces, 4 digs, and 6.0 blocks Dow: 12 net kills, 1 ace, and 7.5 blocks Hanes: 30 net kills, 5 aces, 12 digs, and 1.0 blocks Ensing: 31 net kills, 4 aces, 7 digs, and 1.5 blocks This week's underachievers (including high draft picks that didn't produce as well as others picked near them) are: Coenen: 7 net kills, 0 assists, 1 aces, 9 digs, and 3.5 blocks A Mandalris: 2 net kills, 2 assists, 2 aces, 4 digs, and 1.0 blocks Delingat: 1 net kill, 1 assist, 0 aces, 2 digs, and 4.5 blocks (in FOUR matches) Kyridis: 1 net kill, 0 assists, 0 aces, 0 digs, and 1.0 blocks Senica: -3 net kills and 3 digs Staddick: 5 net kills, 1 assists, 0 aces, 1 digs, and 5.5 blocks Mullahey: 0 net kills, 13 assists, 0 aces, 0 digs, and 0 blocks

Week 2 is in the books. There is a for all intents and purposes massive tie for 3rd through 10th. Unlike the last few seasons, there has been only one sweep. No one is runnign away with it, although volleyfan24 has got a great jump out of the gate at 2-0 (9-1).
Good luck this week.
