I will take Stanford in this rematch. I saw what a big block can do to BYU. Stanford has an even bigger block than Texas and playa great defense. Plus this is the final four. Stanford has payback in there minds. Cards in 4

ilikecorn , currently BYU’s links for schedule, roster, and stats are actually Nebraska’s. I was testing you. You passed

This is going to be a very interesting rematch.
BYU is down a starter, though you'd hardly know it given how they've been playing through the tournament into the FF.
How will BYU play away from Provo? Will Stanford seize up at the start of the match like they did a year ago (or last night, for that matter)? Though BYU also has a habit of starting flat...
Should be a goooood one.

BYU took the first matchup in 5 very close sets, in Provo. For this matchup, they are minus one of their main starters, while Stanford has everyone still healthy. For this reason, I take Stanford in 3, or 4 sets. There is also the revenge factor, on Stanford's side, and the match being played on a neutral site.

The way Stanford came out against Penn State and the way they came out last year against Florida... starting to see a trend, maybe. Too many people love to give Hambly sh*t for his coaching, but he should get credit--Alade, Formico and McClure are all better than last year, he's bringing in a great class (i know, i know, Denise...), he schedules really tough, his players seem to like him, his serving strategy is effective (imo), his teams have always been good blocking teams, but... getting them ready to play from first serve in a high-pressure match, he hasn't been as good at yet. The players have to rise to the occasion, but the buck stops with the coach. Stanford is the favorite, but they still have to live up to it. Through the first 1.5 sets against Penn State, only KP and Alade seemed to remember they were any good. The rest looked like they weren't sure. BYU might come out tight or nervous or flat, too, but I bet they come out hungry. Stanford has to match that. They won't have the crowd like they did last night (which, detractors aside, it was a really fun match to be at), and Plummer can only do so much.

The winner of this semifinal will win the national title. I am really rooting for BYU on this one, although I know Stanford is the favorite. Two leading candidates on each side will make for a fun match to watch most definitely!

All four teams have something notable in common that nobody has mentioned. If you figure out what it is, do not write about it. You'll be scolded. I sure as Hell won't bring it up.

Some of the nerves/poor play from Stanford in 2017 could be attributed to Gray and Fitz playing in their home city. Their connection was way off during that match

Stanford in a sweep. I hesitate to predict here because I'm usually wrong. The only chance BYU has is to keep Stanford permanently off-balance with great serving and defense. That's pretty much what happened in Provo, but Stanford is improved since August, and this one ain't in that dump in Provo.

I see BYU winning this match and their block is not too shabby either. The difference maker in this match will be the setters, I think BYU's setter LHE is much more of a threat offensively than Stanford's Gray. She is probably the most offensive setter in the country.
