Set 2: 25-22 Gators after a pretty large comeback. I think they were down 12-19 or something close. Double sub was awkward for a stretch there when Martin came in. She seems nervous and maybe lacks a little strength pushing balls out wide, but did have a couple of nice connections with Rachael and Haley. Jeez Haley can put some heat on the ball. She had like 3 kills that she destroyed. I like Cerame at libero. She comes up with some stellar defensive plays. Where's the Periscope?? Thanks for this btw  Didn’t even think about it until half way through the first set. I’ve never done it before. Guess I missed my chances this spring lol |

So is Fischer getting zero looks at libero? Cerame is ahead of her? Just surprised since she was a top 100 senior ace/mvp of nationals, etc. But college is make or break for most players.

Volleyball is a great sport that 99% of these athletes love to play. Volleyball from the bench sucks and many lose interest and it becomes a laborious job. Until there is an opening or the player creates their own passion it’s very difficult to change things. Take this for instance, player has been on the court 100% of the time (within the rules) since she was 5. Now on the court much less and it’s not as fun a game. Intangibles kick in at that point and if player is also motivated by school, fun, friends, etc. volleyball becomes a lower priority. And at schools like UF they have plenty of back row options if you lose your edge. Fischer is super super talented and I’m surprised by her not getting in the mix for the shirt but that first year adjustment period may have taken its toll. Hopefully we see her in the mix soon! |

I wonder if Fischer or créame will ever get the jersey. McKissok is going to be a freshman the season after Gregory’s graduation ....

Fischer was the Libero for set 3 yesterday. I haven’t posted the results from sets 3-5 yet, but will try to today! My buddy took notes for me because I had to leave. His notes are hilariously filled with personal commentary that I may need to filter through lol
